: 69 AC Air Duct replacement solution above glovebox?

I have a 69 with AC, it used a paper/wire type of air duct above the glovebox connecting the center vent to the passenger vent.
Size is 3 3/8" ID for the original duct, but its torn to shreds and needs a replacement.
Anyone know where I can get a 3 3/8" rubber or vinyl air duct about 13" long? I temporarily am using a 3" Aluminum Air Duct from the duct aisle at Lowes and had to cut the ends open to allow it to slip over a 3 3/8" OD plastic on each vent.

You could try Vintage Air (http://www.vintageair.com). I beleive they make an original style plastic ducting for their aftermarket a/c kits. I'm sure they sell the components separately. Call them and ask, their tech department is pretty helpful.

Already tried that last week. Their product uses a 2.5" duct system and thus will not fit :(
They do sell it by the foot though.

How about the flexible ducting that restroom fart fans use to exhaust odors? Maybe some home flexible a/c ducting? You also might try Grainger industrial supply for ideas...surely somebody makes flexible ducting in the size you need! Alternatively you could fabricate some adapters for the hard ducting to accomodate a different size flex duct.

I have had a similar problem in the past with a 70 Blazer and my current 64 Nova. Just go to a well stocked NAPA or Carquest. I believe it's made by Gates. They sell it by the foot in various sizes. A good parts man would know. HTH,

AC Delco part number 01234988 GR. 09.260 "Hose A/C" This is what Classic Industries sent me when I ordered it from them. Got a box with about 10 feet in it extended, probably 14" compressed It's wirewound with a black vinyl covering on it. Measures right around 3 1/4" to 3 3/8" in diameter.

Part number doesn't show up in GMpartsdirect.com. Box also has 1 #15-3337 on it above the bar code. Bar code number is 36666 03151.

Mark C, that is WONDERFUL information, one last thing, can you tell me what the Classic Ind part # is?? I live close by and can pick it up direct if the local chevy dealer wants too much.
Classic Industries didn't have that part available in their online system when I looked for it.

$36.25 from local Chevy Dealer, special order

Can't find it in their current print catalog, and I can't find my reciept for it either. I order 90% of my parts from them so I'm at least that sure it came from them. I did find one receipt for some other minor A/C stuff from NPD but it's not on that receipt either, nor does it indicate a backorder.

I ordered one used dash louver for that corner of the dash from D&R but I can't find that receipt, or a D&R catalog either, might have come from them.

Rick's lists a 4" by 6' hose for 67/68 Camaros under part number AC-30 for $17.95, but nothing for 69's.

If you do pick it up be ready to stretch it tight over the fittings on the ductwork and dash louver, but it will fit with a little work.

Vintage air uses an adapter part # 49881-VCI to adapt the smaller hose to the vent. In your situation you would need 2 (two) adapters along with the 2 1/2" hose part # 06250-VUE.
