1969 Camaro
406 ci
Dart iron eagle w/ port work
215 runners/2.05-1.60 valves
roller rockers
600" solid roller
11-1 compression
Full MSD ignition
bowtie single plane intake
Mighty demon 750 cfm
3" exhaust w/ xpipe-flows and 2 1/2 inch tail pipes
100 octane gas
9 inch rear
turbo 400 w/ 3000 stall

364 hp @ 6100 rpm
402 trq @ 6100 rpm

the car has pulled 94 mph in the 1/8th with no traction, do these #'s look right???

***on air/fuel, the car ran lean the whole dyno pass

pretty low numbers for a combo like that

What kind of dyno? If it's a rear wheel dyno where you lose around 20% in the driveline, that sounds pretty respectable to me. KZ

the guy at the dyno said the stall, turbo 400 and the nine inch rear really hurt RWHP #'s

dyno jet

I am going to rejet the carb and try again later

let me get this straight..
you have 364 horses AT THE WHEELS and do 94mph in 660 feet from a standing start while doing a burnout the whole way, and you think the numbers are LOW?

true that a th400 and 9" will eat a lot of power
the converter loses through slippage

to me the #s aren't horrible, but I'd expect more too

to compare my ls1 made 377 (and not near the torque), but that's through a t56 and a 7.5" lcd rear that eat a lot less power

anyone think a little more carb is in order?

I was wondering about the carb size also, but I'm going to richen it up first and see what happens

the 750 demon runs so good I had to put something else on it if I can just tune it

As a dynojet operator, the numbers bother me because they don't make sense.

364 hp @ 6100 rpm = 313 #ft of torque
402 trq @ 6100 rpm = 467 hp

Which is it?

If you are running lean, why don't you do something about it?

I'm an idiot, its my first dyno sheet

402 torque @3600rpm
364 hp @ 6100rpm

2500 rpm between the torque peak and the rpm peak? You have a very broad torque curve.
94 mph in the eighth isn't tied strongly to traction, it means you're making reasonable power. Speaking from a reasonable amount of chassis dyno experience, I'd say the numbers look about right for a car of that performance.

thanks for the input, I am going to work on the lean
condition, check timing and re-dyno it

whats your opinion on drivetrain loss, the guy who dynoed it figured around 25% for the stall, turbo 400 and 9 inch

We don't have any hard and fast rules about drivetrain loss, but most people want as much as they can get. I can cite two examples of drivetrain loss:
1. 331" SBC, Muncie 4-speed, Vette rear- dynoed on the engine dyno at 447 hp @ 6000 rpm, we had it on the Dynojet at 380 hp @ 6000 rpm. 18% loss
2. 540" BBC with a TH400/9" rear - dynoed at 640 hp on the engine dyno, we had it at 525 on the chassis dyno - 22% loss.
Whether or not these correlate to other engines I don't know. We do experience a greater loss in cold drivetrains than warm ones. We always warm the cars up thoroughly before the dyno test, unless of course they won't run that long.
Did you drive your own car on the dyno? We encourage the owners to participate if they want.

the car sat about 4 hrs after I got there, it was in the mid 40's, I let the car run about 10 mins but the dyno guy said the cold didn't help the stall/trans and probably hurt the #'s some
