When I bought my 69 it had the Vintage Air already installed. The air works great but I don't have a clue how to kick it over to heat. It's getting a little cold to be driving on no heat. Help! smile.gif

I'm not sure what it does, but on mine (still in the box) there is a knob on the main unit near the blower motor. It seems to be an on/off switch with reastat(splg?). As stated, not sure what it controls. There should also be a heater control valve that works off of vacuum on one of the heater hoses, is it hooked up?
May have to call VA.
Good luck,
Guy

On the evaporator unit under the dash, there are two micro switches. The middle slider from your original heater controls that says Cold on top and Hot on the bottom connects via a cable to these switches. When the slider is pushed up, the AC switch is turned on and when the slider is pushed down the Heater switch is turned on.

There is also a vacuum operated valve that should be inline on one of the the heater hoses that runs through the firewall and to the evaporator.

If your heater switch is bad or the vacuum valve is bad then the heat won't come on. I would double check to make sure that there is hot water making it into the evaporator via the heater hose first and check the heater switch second.
