Heres the deal... I am in the middle of trying to get the factory a/c correctly hooked up. The blower motor I have will run when I touch the prong coming out of the back housing to the positive on the battery, while touching the metal housing to the negative on the battery. But, when I run the power feed from the horn relay (positive side)to the blower motor prong and connect a ground wire from the blower housing to ground on the fire wall it shorts the power source. The horn relay is supplying power to the wire that goes to the blower motor prong.

The build manual shows the power feed coming in (fused) from the horn relay (purple) and another wire (black) coming from the blower to the relay and ground. What does the black wire connect to on the blower motor? a screw on the housing?
Please help,
Thanks, Joe

The ground wire attaches to a little metal male terminal right below and to the right of the (+)power terminal (about 4 o'clock relative to the power terminal). It is just soldered, or spot welded to the flange of the motor where it attaches to the suitcase.

The black wire comes all the way back around the suitcase to the engine side where it gets spliced into the same black ground wire on the blower motor fan relay. That wire is grounded to the firewall with a hex head sheetmetal screw right near where the A/C wiring comes thru the firewall.

Thanks, I got it working. The main problem I had was... I was doing this with the battery ground disconnected from the engine and passenger fender and was not getting the proper ground. When I hooked it up with the battery attacted in the proper places it worked. My bad!

Anyway, the location info for the ground on the blower housing was very helpful. I now have 3 out of 4 speeds on the fan switch but I think thats because I still need the correct resistor.
