Hellooo!!
I need some info on installing a Mark VIII fan. I am thinking of running a 3 core replacement RAD and have read back post of this fan and was wondering what I will need to install this. What harness set up for running a thermostatic controll and what would be a good temp to run it at. Anyone with pictures out there? I am looking at the bone yards but there arn't any there right now. And what year am I looking for?
The engine is;
355 with Vortec heads from summit stock rockers
comps XE 268 cam and lifters
EDL Performer Airgap intake
9.7 to 1 comp per piston but could get close to 10 to 1
Holly street avenger 670
Dynomax ceramic coat headers and Flow master exhaust kit
also will have the March standerd size alm pully set.
Thanks for the help I want to get the wiring done before graemlins/beers.gif I set the engine in.
Matt.

Try this link. http://www.geocities.com/smithmonte/Auto/MarkVIII_Fan.htm probably too much info!

GOT AMPS? Better make way for a new alternator from Tuffstuff or Powermaster. Need to pick one that will have at least 70amps IDLE! So, a 140 model for you! The sucker (pun intended) will gobble up 35 to 40 amps real quick.

I would do an aluminum radiator if you can afford one and it's not too late from PRC. Check out http://www.streetrodstuff.com/Products/157/

Also, run your engine at 175 thermostat or better! It will perform better and last a lot longer. 180 themostats are very common and perfect for this. Buy a "balanced" stat from Mr. Gasket from Summit Racing. These are very accurate and will NOT fail in the closed position.

You can use anyone of several sensing devices from Spal or Derale or If you have a real temperature gauge.....check this out http://www.centechwire.com/catalog/accessories/fc2p.shtml ....pretty cool and easy to install and operate.

Have you looked at the "high performance" pulley kit from Concept One? Check out www.conceptonepulleys.com (http://www.conceptonepulleys.com) for more info. The beauty of these are that they feature the whole turnkey kit with waterpump, powersteering pump, brackets, pulleys, hardware, belts,....everything and can be assembled in one hour! Here is a picture of a Camaro set up..

These also run the alternator at higher idle speeds (something you will drastically need) and waterpump speed increased too. These are quality kits and many from here have used them. Here is a picture in my car.

If ya decide to buy the Concept kits email me back for a discount code! (5%-10% depending on kit)
