I have a 68 RSSS, 396, Auto, w/ AC. The build date on the car is Nov. 67. The original water pump had the aluminum spacer on it but the fan was missing. Does this mean it came with the typical four blade fan? Seems to me with an AC and Auto car it should have had a bigger fan. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Should have a multibladed (7 blade I think)fan with a thermal clutch. Was RPO K85 I beleive. Fan would be a 3992772 if it were a 69, not sure if the same fan was used in 68.

It's not a 7 bladed fan, it's a five bladed fan. It should be part number 378952 (That's a service number, may not be the original part number). Sort of a weird looking fan in that the five blades are not evenly spaced. It looks like someone started out designing a 7 bladed fan but only put 5 flades on it. It also has a smaller bolt circle to attach it to the clutch/spacer than "normal" fans. Most 67/68 fans have a 3.00" bolt circle, this fan has a 3.25" bolt circle.
The 378952 fan fits the following Camaro applications. There are additional applications.
PART NO Year USAGE
3789562 67 Camaro (396),
3789562 67-68 Camaro w/C.A.C.,
3789562 65-68 Chevy, Chevelle, Camaro w/fan drive (8 cyl)
