I have a ’97 Camaro V6 that has a brand new NAPA thermostat and is “heaving” after the engine warms up. I can actually hear the coolant burping with in the radiator and hoses. As soon as I hear this I shut off the engine and let it cool.
Any ideas what causes this? Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks

Me again...are you sure that you adequately vented the air out of the system when you had it partially drained for the thermostat replacement? When I replace the thermostat I fill the coolant up to the level of the thermostat location then install the thermostat. Then I fill the rest of the coolant and run the engine with the radiator cap off to burp out all of the air. It can be tricky to get the coolant system vented of air pockets after draining......SSF

Yes! You were correct on this. After doing some research, while I should have been working, I came to the same conclusion. I just got back in from a spin to heat and test the engine temperature. It stayed cool and stopped "burping".
Thanks again for your help on this topic. Hope to return the favor soon.
