I have been trying to find out what the freezing and boil over temps are for different antifreeze/water mixtures. I have had no luck so far. Does anyone know this info or where it can be found? I am almost ready to fire the car up again after a year of body and paint and want to keep her as cool as possbile

thanks

http://www.sierraantifreeze.com/ has a somewhat good site. But all you'll get is boil over/freeze protection ... so add some water wetter or a like product, helps with heat dissipation.

Freeze Boiling
mix Point Point
40% 60% -4°F 249°F*
50% 50% -26°F 256°F*
60% 40% -54°F 261°F*
66% 34% -76°F 262°F*
*Closed System; 14 psi caps

thanks for the info, I already have water wetter ready to go. I plan to use the 40/60 since our summers get really hot and I want the car the idle in traffic without overheating

The mixture of a/f to water is for corrosion protection and freeze prevention. However, the lesser amount of a/f, the better the heat transfer due to a lower specific gravity, ie, closer to water, Sp. gr. = 1.00.

Pressure keeps the coolant mixture from boiling. The general rule of thumb, "At sea level, for every increase of 1 psi, increases the boiling point by 3 degreesF."

I currently have a 20 psi cap on my dually cause it runs at 230-240*F in the summer. When I shut it down and its heat soaks, I don't "hear" it boiling.
