There is a Hooters just a block or two from the ballpark. Is there a Cracker Barrel close by? Hopefully the wife will let me attend.

Once again I won't be there. I have a softball tournament saturday.

No 'E' in Camaro
Jun 19th, 01, 08:37 AM
I'm in! Where's the Crackerbarrel at? Anybody bringing their Camaro along? If I get my new wheels put on in time I'll drive mine. Of course theft is always a concern at these things too. If it can happen at Super Chevy....

Ben, it's too risky bringing your car. I'll find out exactly where the Craker Barrel is and will let you know.

Why Cracker Barrel? We've been meeting for breakfast at Owens since day one, and I think everyone knows where its at. Why change our tradition?

I second that. I know right where Owen's is! Guess I won't bring my car then, just to be on the safe side. I've got my new wheels IN the car now, but not ON the car yet! http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif Thanks Wayne! My wife will be happy to get the tires out of the spare bedroom too, heh heh.

I'll try and make it too.

Owens at 8:30.

Hooters is located on Collins just west of the Ballpark. There is not a Hooters on Division that I am aware of http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif.

Whoever makes it to Owens first, reserve a table for 10. Looks like we should have a pretty good showing, I'm planning on driving the Tornado, so if you run across some high winds while pulling into the parking lot, don't worry about it....... http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Well, we had 8 show up for breakfast, turned out to be a pretty nice day, I don't even think it reached 90 degrees! Alot of 1st Generation cars out there, prices are still skyrocketing. There were (2) Yenko clones, both average in my opinion, and I think they were both close to 30K! Good grief. One decent 69' small block Pace Car (28K), one Z/28 that appeared to be an original X77D80 car (26.5K), and several project cars. Anyway, pretty uneventful day, only picked up a couple of pillar posts, some window trim and front spoiler brackets. Wayne picked up a nice ashtray for 5 bucks, Kel got some nice 68' plates for 45 bucks, Danny was saving all his money for Hooters! Best part of the whole day was the Mustang I smoked on the way home, but that's another story....... http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

It was a nice outing! "No E" Ben cut me a very sweet deal on some rally's. I loved the Hooter's on the girl with the glasses, uh, oh, I mean I liked the wings at Hooter's served by the girl with the glasses.

KZ never did tell the Mustang story did he? Well, as we exited the freeway, I saw a GT that I have seen around down jacking with people and told KZ to keep on eye on him. We has slowed down to cross some RR tracks and KZ was in 2nd gear. (396/4sp/12bolt pos). The GT passed us and then slowed to keep even. Just about the time they got even with us, KZ took off. I never heard the motor really rev but I know we flat took off. The 396 was reving so low, that I could still hear the GT over the dual FloPros on the "Tornado". As the GT ran all the gears, KZ mashed a little more and pulled away. THEN he KZ shifted to 3rd. He never hit 4th gear. We waited at the light for more the 7-8 seconds for the GT to show up. I think KZ has a pretty high rear ratio due to the low revs in 2nd gear. You should have seen the look on the guys faces in the GT. How many brain cells does it take to realize if the Camaro says "SS396", it may not be the car you want to mess with. Oh well, they may have just wanted to see it run. My 68 only has a 350 barely over stock (std. bore, 327/350hp cam, Edel Perf. RPM, Edel 600 carb and headers). KZ's was the first BB I have ridden in and I think I'm hooked. I will be driving my 350 while I finish up my body work and building/saving for a BB. Then I will do my motor swap over a weekend and track down all the ones the messed with my mouse with a new rat in the cage.

This sounds like a "tall Texas tale" to me. From what I know, after leaving Hooter's in Arlington, KZ began to develop stomach cramps as a result of eating too many hot wings. What happenned next is a blurr but there was a Mustang GT involved BUT, all the gear shifting actually took place on the potty! As far as hitting the "gas", that usually happens when your body is unable to digest protein such as chicken wings. What's worse than messing with a Camaro with "SS396" badging, is messing with a man who's eaten more wings than he can handle and has a beach towel ready by his side should something go wrong.

I'm glad KZ is on vacation...hahaha Hey, wasn't he saying "If Danny buys, I will eat 50 wings"?. I think he only made it to 10. As far as the GT goes, I was there, but, there was the "gas" issue that could have affected my senses...

Hey sr71bb,
We didn't end up playing ball. The guy that was getting it started had to go to San Antonio. His brother has Bacterial Menagitous (SP?) So it kind of got canceled. Where do you actually live? We live in Corinth and we are thinking of getting a summer team together. The church leauge is over.

KZ had his chance for a free lunch but couldn't even handle 10 wings.
