I'm a little slow I have a TS87 fan sensor in the bypass hole on my 454 so it don't have to wait for thermostat to open. I have not fired this car up yet everything is still being sorted out. I have the 2spd. Taurus fan also. I plan on only hooking up "high speed" cuz this is a 13:1 street/strip ride and might as well cool it qiuckly. I plan on using a 180 therm. This TS87 is stated to close @ 185 F and open @ 160 F min. Ok gurus lets have the diagram

Well.....I am a little confused. First, what exactly are you asking for? A wiring diagram or something else.

Secondly, if you put the fan sensor (of any type) that is lower temperature turn-on than the thermostat opening point before the thermostat outlet, it will bring the fan on when the car is travelling down the road at operating temperature. You only want the fan on when the temperture at the outlet of the engine exceeds (or a range thereof) the thermostat cycling temperature.

I would opt to put a regular sensor in the intake (because this monitors the entire output of the engine) which is the most consistent place to switch or monitor temperature. A 180 degree HIGH FLOWING OR BALANCED THERMOSTAT IS A MUST, and bring the fan on at 190ish and turn it off at 185 (adjustable models will do this). With this method when the engine is operating at the proper range the fan will be off. As it's designed to be.

I don't know if I have been of any help or maybe just confused the situation?? graemlins/clonk.gif

Ok you're helping. I'll move it to the hole above the thermostat. :D
