ok guys, I recently installed a 427. (long pump and solid engine mounts..) graemlins/clonk.gif

My problem is the engine sits to low for a stock fan and shroud setup.(because of the mounts)
I then decided to go with an electric setup but I only have about 3 inches between the pump and rad.. Does anyone know if the Taurus fan will be thin enough? or any other ideas will be appreciated.. Trying to avoid changing mounts or pump but will if need to..

Thanks in advace,, Joe..

I measured my fan I haven't put it on yet, approx 5 1/4" thick so it prob won't fit.

Nope...won't happen. But, twin Spals or Derales might go on and you tuck the front of the pump in between.

3" would be plenty for a custom shroud with 2 11" fans.

Thanks for the replys... I appreciate it.. graemlins/hurray.gif
I went on a mission today at the local salvage yard and found something that may work.. It is a twin fan setup from a 97 intrepid. It is about 3 in depth and I believe I can tuck the pump between the two fans.. Measures 25" wide by 13" in height.. Will find out tomorrow!!

Anyone else using solid mounts on there BB? (I'm thinking of going back to stock mounts)

Thanks, Joe.

Thanks, Joe. We ran the solid mounts for racing, they do capture the motor and do transfer alot of torque to the frame, along with all vibration.
We removed them when we stopped racing, there was just too much vibration transferred for a street cruiser.

I forgot to mention, I was able to get a taurus fan on my BBC setup, by turning the taurus fan upside down and offset from the water pump snout, it fit with about .5 -.75" clearance. I've run it like this for a few years with no problem.

Thanks Wayner,

I'm going to change the mounts and go to a short style w\p.. Having nothing but problems with the current setup...

Thanks again,, Joe.
