I just bought a 67 RS coupe with factory air, and I am new to the factory air setup. Under the drivers side fenderwell (underhood) there is what looks like a round plastic vacumm canister, with only 1 rubber line connected going through firewall to ?. Can someone tell me what this vacumm canister did on the early camaro and what it ran, maybe flappers for the vents or something like that.
Thanks

it was used as a vacuam storage device to run the air powered flappers on an ac car. non-ac cars don't have it

It should have a small hose and a smaller hose connected to it. And it’s not plastic, it’s metal. It’s on a “67” Camaro They didn’t start hanging lot’s a plastic on those cars until 68.. He he Yeah I’m a little biased. :D

On a 67 did this metal vacuum canister also run the heater hot water to the core shutoff valve,?
Thanks for help

No valve in a 67, just a flapper door in the heater box to block off or divert the hot air.
