im attempting to remove a rusted out heater hose fitting on my Offenhauser manifold.
its the 7/8 fitting for the heater.
its rusted out so bad that the hole is actually closing up a bit.
and the surfaces to grab on to are begining to round off.
I have stainless replacement fittings that id like to use once I remove it but I am afaid once it moves itll take the threads with it aswell.
I was going to attempt to heat the fitting to help loosen the bond the rust has on the manifold.
any ideas?

Thats a scary one Dawg,I have been there luckily mine came out,Heat would be my last resort and I would still not want to do it.You need to find something that fits it Vice Grips, monkey wrench, etc and make sure you have room to pull with out running into something.I would let it soak with some sort of penetrating oil or spray for a while then put a slow steady hard pull on it hopefully it will break loose.Good Luck

my only other option is to pull the manifold and set it up on the vertical miller then eat away at the inside wall a bit til it will finally give.

Yea that too is a final resort,I still think you can get it though without pulling the intake I hope anyway.

must be feeling daring... I'd go get the (propane) torch inna heartbeat. 30 seconds of heat, that rust'll be mush. Make sure there ain't any fuel lines around tho.
