I bought a 68 w/ air recently but the unit is off the car and needs repair. I have heard two schools of thought..repair the existing unit..and I have heard it is better to get a new unit with the repro sticker...any thoughts? Also , any suggestions on where to go for a new unit or to repair the original unit?

When you say unit I'm assuming compressor. I recently bought a rebuilt compressor from Advance Auto. It was $99.98 but you have to buy the Drier ($27.00) and the Expansion Valve ($26.00) to get the warranty on the compressor. I've yet to charge it up so I can't comment on the performance. I think just about all the major parts stores carry these parts.
