View Full Version : water pump to manifold hose aonghus Mar 4th, 05, 03:55 PM Do i need the waterpump to intake manifold hose ? thanks a ton once again dawg Mar 5th, 05, 04:17 AM on what? a honda? Everett#2390 Mar 5th, 05, 07:13 AM Yes. Manifold out to heater, 5/8 inch ID hose. Return from heater to water pump, 3/4 inch ID hose. dawg Mar 5th, 05, 09:50 AM youll have to block or plug the outlet on the water pump and the intake. but you wont have heat or defroster. 67CruiseMasterCamaro Mar 5th, 05, 10:28 AM It amazes me how many people want to ask a question, and don't put specifics about their car they are talking about in the thread. Aonghus, don't take this as pointing the finger at you, just a general statement about everyone, including me.... :D aonghus Mar 5th, 05, 10:42 AM name of forums: camaros.net Yes, I would come here to ask questions about a 91 Hatchback Civic. graemlins/clonk.gif Dont have heating, nor a defroster, don't desire to have one as I live in San Diego and would need either for about 6 weeks a year. Just wasnt sure if I needed that hose, I see quite a few cars that don't have a heater or defroster, but still have that Line (my car being one of them) anyway, thanks guys. JimM Mar 5th, 05, 05:46 PM just happens I do remember seeing a pic of your bypass hose from a previous owner removing the heater...No, you don't need it, you could plug both of those fittings. It wouldn't hurt to drill some small holes in your thermostat to give a lil coolant flow tho. aonghus Mar 5th, 05, 09:18 PM thanks once again Jim ;p you always seem to be the one to answer my question straight up what about running without a thermostat? heard of people doing that before smile.gif dawg Mar 6th, 05, 03:23 AM well at least include a year of the vehicle? burns me up as well. after researching a problem then come to find out problem was on a fourth gen not a first gen. there are major differences ya know! JimM Mar 6th, 05, 03:44 AM down, Dawg....Aonghus is a reg here, that pick of an 18" loop of heater hose hangong off the front of his mototr's been on at least 3 times. I wouldn't run without a thermostat, coolant circulates so fast the rad doesn't have time to cool it. ithout the heater core tho, I would run 3 or 4 3/16" holes through near the edge of the thermostat, this will allow a small amount of coolant to circulate even when it is cold, eleminating the potential for hot spots. With the heater connected, coolant circulates thru it all the time, even when the thermostat is closed. wayner Mar 7th, 05, 04:37 AM Some circle track cars that run at hi RPM's can get away without a T-stat, but any street driven car should run one, the t-stat also helps turbulance of the coolant which will provide better cooling. Holes in the t-stat will also help any trapped air in the system to purge. balanced hi flow t-stats (robert shaw etc...)are more desireable then regular style. |
