While detailing wires and vac hoses up front, Im planning to do some detailing around the frame etc. with engine still in the car. If I remove the radiator and A/C evaporator, that leaves the radiator support. To remove that, I see the 2 large rubber frame bushings involved. If that all comes apart will there not be any support for the fenders that are still on the car? Should I also replace the rubber bushings since they look pretty rotted? Ive never had the front end torn down this far so I want an idea of what Im getting into before I put wrenches to it.

Jim, you'll need to rig something to support the front sheetmetal if you try to pull the rad support. Should also tape your door and fender edges just in case, and pull the lower 2 bolts in each fender to get some "wiggle room" There are also 2 bolts on each side that bolt the inner fenders to the rad support.

It is possible to replace those bushings without actually removing the rad support tho.
