Anyone ever use a stock lt1 radiator in a 1st gen car? It looks like the core would extend past the opening on both sides an inch or two, but I doubt that would cause enough of an airflow issue to cause overheating. I'm putting an lt1 in my 69 and the stock lt1 radiator is dirt cheap and designed to work with the motor, so I would like to make it work. It looks like there might be as much exposed surface area as some aftermarket radiators, even with the part that's not in the airflow.

what is the year, of the gen4 car ?

if it is a mid 90's the radiator 17 1/4 from tank to tank
the Gen1 radiator is 17" from tank to tank

the inlet and outlet hose connections are diffrent on the gen1 VS the GEN4

the GEN4 radiator has plastic tanks and an aluminum core which even if it is thinner (has less tubes) is a better cooling radiator than the copper brass one in the GEN1

I think that you will be fine. with the GEN4 radiator or you could get a polished aluminum one that would look better..
