Hello,
I'm restoring a 1967 Camaro ragtop. She has a power top, but the orginal switch has long been gone. I supposedly found one and went ahead and took the plunge. The switch came in the orginal GM box. The #'s on the flap are as follows: GR12195 EFS
1.3906118. Does anyone have a picture of one as well?? Help!! :(

Try this - http://community.webshots.com/photo/63290859/84759679fgwbZx
This is Team Camaro members 'angelglo' car. He has other pisctures on his site that may be usefull to you.

Also try a "search' using "Top Switch" in Interior Forum and see what comes up.

Hope this helps

Well, I can't identify the part number (3973644), but the group it's in (9.778) is for Rear Window Defogger stuff. According to my Price Schedule, it was used in Chevrolet, Buick, Olds and Pontiac cars. Maybe someone else out there can pinpoint the use for you.

By the way, I added the 69 switch to my page for comparison purposes...

Also in the box of stuff i got, looks to be a chrome switch like the one pictured on the page linked to above. Would either of these work in a 68?

Carolina67ragtop:

You have the following:

3906118 -group 12.195

1964-68 Chevelle Station Wagon window switch assy (on instr. panel)
1965-66 Full size Station Wagon window switch assy (on instr. panel)
It looks like a switch for the rear tailgate window. graemlins/beers.gif

Okay I also looked up to see what switch you actually needed for your top and found out it is the same number, but in a different group. 3906118 in group 14.483 is a 67-68 Passenger, Chevelle, Camaro Convertible top switch.

It looks like it will work. The spacing on the three prongs look identical to the switches in the above link.I dont understand how it could be a defogger switch, they usually will flip up and stay up,flip down and stay down. This switch you have to hold up or down or it will return, like a power top switch would.

Well it looks like it has a couple different applications. Good thing I looked up the switch for the convert and saw it there also.

While I'm at it, the 69 switch is 3959230 and the bezels for these switches are:

3986867 - 67-68 Camaro
3937660 - 1969 Camaro

Damn Jonesy - you let my secret out!
Many years ago I went into a dealer in Denver to get a replacement top switch for my Camaro, the parts guy looked it up and they didn't have a current listing for it.
He was looking at the old one laying on the counter and then said "you know - that looks just like a station wagon rear window switch". He looked one up (don't remember just what car he looked under) - went back to the shelves and came back with the exact same switch for my car! Never had to find another one since but now that I have your listings I know what to look for! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks Jonesey for information on the switch and now I'm perturbed that jerk sold me the wrong part. graemlins/angry.gif I will take issue with him PDQ. Where can I acquire a publication for part #'s identification? Thanks!

I'm confused. I thought you had the right switch.

You have a 67 convert and the correct switch is 3906118. At least I think that's right graemlins/clonk.gif

Right??
