My power top used to work fine and last fall started tripping the breaker while putting the top up.The top goes about half way up when it tripps, then in about two minutes(auto reset breaker)I can put it all the way up.I just started looking into it.The fluid level is ok,I lubricated all pivot points, and I disconected the lift cylinders so I could move the top manually and check for binding. It dosn't seem to be binding.I suspect the pump motor is going bad and drawing too much current but I'm not sure.I haven't checked current yet.Has anyone had a similar problem.I hate to guess,a new pump is about $190. Thanks

IMO, the relay could be just getting old. I had to replace my horn relay, and when I opened it up it was a mess.

I agree with Gary...Go to Kragen and pick up a new 30A Self resetting Circuit breaker...give it a try. $3 bucks is better that $190
