: We're buried!
stevo camaro Dec 29th, 03, 07:34 AM We got hit hard with snow last night and it's still snowing. It's up to my waist, about 3'.
Can't get the 4x4's out without chains. If it was a wet snow it be no problem which is usually the case here in No.Cal.
But this stuff is powder and packs like ice. We high centered the jeep on the pack. LOL smile.gif
To make matters worse, the only 4x4 we have that is tall enough to drive over the top is the 69 burb, which yesterday at about 2:00 pm, blew the heater core & filled the cab with steam. I left it at the shop with the inner fender hanging & the heater out.
LOL That crappy streak still going strong. LOL
We can only hide out here at the house today, since the wife, along with everyone elseshe works with can't get out either. Maybe we'll get out tomorrow. graemlins/sad.gif smile.gif
HwyStarJoe Dec 29th, 03, 07:55 AM FINALLY!! I can say "Man, sucks to be you. It's sunny and close to 60 here!"
Neener neener neener!!!

DjD Dec 29th, 03, 08:13 AM Steve I was thinking about you when my engineers in Weaverville told me they had 3' of snow on the ground so far... Sat and Sunday was clear and sunny here and this morning it's pouring and the rain is coming down at a 45 deg angle!! My Novato office is sandbaging and expecting the creek to over flow today...
Hang in there, you're gonna get a break until Thurs... graemlins/beers.gif
paulm Dec 29th, 03, 08:57 AM There are worse things than being snowed in with your wife!! ;)
Tire Smoke 69 Dec 29th, 03, 09:01 AM Stevo, sorry to hear about all the snow. I guess it won't make you feel any better if I said I was just looking out my window at work and looking forward to jumping in my car in an hour or so and crusing home in nice sunny 70 degree weather. :D
Sorry to rub it in but I'm usually complaining that it's to hot in the summer to even think about driving my car. Now that my wife bought me a Vintage air graemlins/thumbsup.gif I can enjoy it in the summer now.

I-5 is closed for 130 miles, and we're stuck in the middle. We've been hit like this before but it's been about 10 years. The real problem is when it all drops within 30 hrs.
The only 4x4's moving here have chains on all 4.
I can't see the eclipse at all & the 73 pickup is just a big mound. smile.gif
Hiwaystar Joe, yeah no kidden. Your usually on this side of the fence. LOL smile.gif

chicane67 Dec 29th, 03, 09:42 AM Yo stevo! Can you post some pictures ??
For some odd reason I actually miss living in Colorado....even with a 200 ft drive way, that used to get about 15 foot deep back in the early 80's. Man, what you have sounds like FUN!!

Man, what you have sounds like FUN!! Pics are no problem. As soon as I get dressed up again, I'll walk over to the jeep and fetch the digital. You'd have to see how we're setup here, it's a little different. The vehicles are a 300' walk. In this stuff, that's work. LOL smile.gif
We have to go out in it soon anyway to shovel some more. Again.
HawaiianCamaro Dec 29th, 03, 10:16 AM I hear the Military has a sale of excess equipment from WWII FLAME THROWERS!!! graemlins/waving.gif

jackr Dec 29th, 03, 11:52 AM I feel for all you snow bound people. I grew up in Buffalo, NY. I know snow.
We are getting the California weather later this week, I am planning on taking the kids to the (mountain) snow to play.
Jeff H Dec 29th, 03, 12:02 PM We got hit in early Dec this year with 18" which is way out of the ordinary. But I got out today and played some golf since it was 55 degrees! 7 over par for 10 holes, not too bad for not playing in over a month.
shoddy_F-body Dec 29th, 03, 12:19 PM Balmy 58 and sunny in the Pocono Mountains today. tongue.gif

hugger_sixty_nine Dec 29th, 03, 04:55 PM Dag Nammit! Will you guys in the sunny bawmy sun streaked southern states stop taunting us poor Canucks. We have had incredible weather until a day ago when some cold streak puched it's way in and the temp went from about 40 degrees to about 8 degrees farenheit. In Celcius thats about -21 and it's fricken cold. My garage is heated but I won't even walk from the house to the garage so the car can have a night off tonight (hehe.
I can only wish it was 60 and sunny here, but in reality that is 3-4 months away :(
RickD Dec 30th, 03, 01:33 AM Well, Stevo, now you can paint the inside walls whatever the wife wants!
It was rough working outside in 60* on the car. The things we have to put up with.
Joe, I'm hoping this is a trend! But makes me wonder what summer will be like!
DjD Dec 30th, 03, 05:00 AM You east coasters need to think back to Feb of this year when you got pelted. I hope this isn't a sign of whats in store for you in the next month or two...

I could not imagine 3' of snow. Of course, if we did get that much here, someone would still pass you on the highway at 70mph
So where's them pics Stevo?
"No beer and no TV make Stevo something something..."
"Go crazy?"
"Dont mind if I do!"
:D :D :D
HwyStarJoe Dec 30th, 03, 05:58 AM Hey Dennis, to most people it's not the amount of snow, it's how many times it snows and how long it stays each time. A good socking in once or twice is expected each winter. But when it drags on for month after month, that's when people start going nuts and tempers start to flair.
Last winter took the cake and was the "longest" one we'd had in years. It started in October and didn't stop until May!! It was constantly cold for 6-8 months straight without a break and everytime the snow started to melt, it snowed again! Spring was tough because of the constant low temps, so much snow and frozen ground that everyone had major problems with drainage and flooding in their basements. Nobody could believe how 'long' winter was last year.
This years a different story.... you'd hardly know it was winter at all. We got a couple good coverings but NOTHING like Steve's gotten!! Holy Smokes! We haven't had that much snow around here in a long time. Syracuse and Buffalo tend to get it worse though.
Hey Stevo, does it snow (not that amount) all winter there? Or do you guys just get snow once in a while or at all usually? I don't know what the usual or average snowfall is for that area.
Snatchin'gears Dec 31st, 03, 10:30 AM Snow is a 4 letter word isn't it? Wouldn't it be obscene material if you post those pictures?
