View Full Version : Windshield/A Pillar weather stripping on a 69
69rad Jun 16th, 04, 05:06 PM How does the Windshield/A Pillar weather stripping
attach? Mine is missing a chunk up at the top and I see a screw, but if the chunk was not missing i would not even be able to get to that screw.
angelglo Jun 16th, 04, 08:32 PM the weather stripping has a hole all the way through. if your weather stripping was intact, ;you would still be able to see the screw if you looked inside the hole

Jonesy Jun 17th, 04, 03:46 AM Are you talking about the weatherstripping that goes along the roofrail and seals the window on the door? That weatherstrip is pressed in a channel and glued. The channel is chrome and screws to the body along the roofrail and has the blow out clips attached to it. This is probably the hardest NOS piece of weatherstrip to find nowadays. They do make repo weatherstrips for this.
KevinW Jun 17th, 04, 07:20 AM Since this a convert section, I assume you are talking about a convertibles weather strip smile.gif
The weather strip is glued to the channel, the channel is screwed first to the piller with the stainless A-piller cover underneath.
You are probably seeing the channel to piller screw head.
69rad Jun 17th, 04, 08:29 AM Yes it's a convertible.
Is the wire mesh I, see part of the weather stripping?
angelglo Jun 17th, 04, 09:06 AM kevin,
i dont have the screw under the w/stripping. on both my verts, 68 and 69, they are like the one pictured. the 69 is a repro but the 68 i believe could posibly be original and it too does have the wire mesh. look in the album under pinchweld

You can see the screw holes in the support.
Does the screw that you can see, match up with one if the holes shown in pic?
Also, the mesh you see, might just be re-enforcement molded inside the weatherstrip.
69rad Jun 20th, 04, 08:50 AM Yes, That's IT!
My weather strip is broken off even with the top end of the metal channel down almost to the screw that is what caused the mesh to be seen.
Is there 4 screws or 2? In the pic I see the 2 holes that are raised and 2 that are either flush or recessed. So the screws hold the channel that that the weather strip is glued to? Or does the weather strip come with the metal channel?
