do some searching, see what others are going for. I do that every once ina while just to look at cool cars. Type "68 Camaro Convertible" into google or yahoo, you'll get hundreds, many of which will be for sale ad's. I'd value mine at $24k, it's a #'s matching V8 car, but not totally stock anymore.

According to the NADA book for classic cars (muscle cars) a plain Jane 68 Camaro 6 cylinder is worth:
Low Retail------Avg Retail------High Retail
$8,145---------$16,020---------$27,180
Do some searching on Traderonline (http://www.traderonline.com/) for cars similar to yours. You're in the right state for a convertible. I would get it appraised by a shop that does muscle cars. My son's '79 Z28 was appraised by a general appraiser at $3000 and by another appraiser who understood muscle cars at $12k. Big difference. He sold it for $9k. In the real world, its usually worth about 2/3 to 3/4 the actual appraisal price.

I have a 67 6 cylinder convert. only engines been long gone. In my opinion these cars (except for common rust spots) are usually structurally sound mainly because noone stressed these bodys with high horsepower motors. The body lines and all gaps on mine are in excellent shape. However I would rather here a nice rumble of a V8 anyday. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
