I Have 2 areas that I am struggling with.
1: The pilar post weatherstrip. I have installed it and it didn't look or fit quite right. I have 67 convertible. Any suggestion or help, especially a PIC or 2 would be great.

2: THe rearspeaker housing, I can't quite figure the exact mounting location. i.e. the factory or dealership location. Again any help or PIC would be greatly apprecitated.

Thanks JJ

This this the rubber weatherstrip that the vent window will seal againt the pillar into.

I forgot to take apic today... sorry.
What I do is put the molding on in the middle of the adjustment with no w/strip. adjust wing window frame so it is parallel to w/strip channel and then put the w/strip in...
I'll make sure to get you a pic tuesday

Gene,

Thanks for the pic, that is a really cool slide show. I guess I am missing some chrome or something. What I have are the convertible pillar post weatherstrip from classic industries page 395. I have installed the windshield header moldings, the inner and outer pillar post molding pages 340 and 347 all from classic. I am now trying to install the pillar weatherstrip but from what I can tell from your pics it looks like there is a thin chrome piece between where the wing window meets the pillar. Can you corfirm this or am I seeing things.

Again thanks for those pics.

yep there is a chrome channel that is adjustable and holds the W/strip....67 is different than 68-69 in that 68-69 has black metal "blow out Clip" that the window sits on up near the top ... 67 does not have the clip as it has wing windows..
I'll snap some pics of the channel ( without w/strip) next to a hard top one.... maybe it can be shortend to fit a convert. I don't think anyone sells them repo yet.
I don't have a classic catalog(paper one anyways)
can you give part numbers of what you bought? The only diffence in the parts you bought is possibly the w/strip... as 67 is different then 68-69

Thanks Gene,
BTW, any off chance you looked at a 67 conv for sale about year and a half ago. Was for sale by a guy named Mark just east of Seattle. It was a black cherry factory 4sd car. He wanted something like 10 grand for it. I ask because I see your from Oak Harbor and I guessing if a Camaro goes up for sale in that part of the world it probably peeks your intrest.

Thanks for the pics and if you find a pair of those channels I would be real intested in them.

JJ Nope I did not look at it.... I only seem to have time to build cars for other people....

Gene,

Thanks for the info, I haven't had any luck finding them anywhere else.

I don't need those outer post moldings but I will bid on these anyway.

I guess I should say I will own these. Kinda like the Ferrari guy on that F88 from Barret Jackson.

I don't need these that badly. LOL

THanks for the info.

I would take the extra convert moldings off your hands.. let me know if you want to part with them. I can always use spare convert parts

Gene,

I would let them go, let me know what they are worth to you and that way I will figure that in on my bid price.

Gene,

Just found out they are for a 68-69 and won't work for the 67 as the 67 are smaller.

Dang it, thanks for the infor anyway.
