O.K. here's the scoop: "Days Inn" will be the place to stay for the show. Friday night will be drags @ pacific Raceways. Sat night will be autocross & a road rally. "Departure picnic" is still up in the air...
I will be attending a meeting this Fri. night to help organize the trophies/awards etc. I will get more info at that time. The website will be updated sometime tomorrow, and will contain info for lodging amongst other tidbits. Sounds like it's going to be the biggest event the PNWCC has ever put on! graemlins/hurray.gif

Is that the Days Inn in Bellevue? And how far is Bellevue from Kent/Renton area? Isn't Bellevue only 15 miles or so from PIR?

Mahalo for the update Dan, Ill be checking the web site over the weekend before I re-do my hotel arrangements. The closer I am the better, I might have a long stride but not that long graemlins/waving.gif

Dan - You guys need to get some of the updated info published. www.allchevyshow.com (http://www.allchevyshow.com) has flyers Reg forms with the wrong hotel info. I also published a reg form on our clubs site as well as a flyer that was sent to me through the WCA and it has the wrong info. I will remove what I have until I get sent a new flyer and see a new reg form. Was going to print them and hand them out friday at our club meeting as this is planned as a club event for us. I'll hold off for another month but folks need to know asap. I also hope anyone that has already secured arrangements finds out about the change or they will not be happy campers. Maybe the PNWCC can send notification to any early entries they get...

The PNWCC "All Chevy Show" is going to be August
15-17th @ Bellevue Community College. I'm certain that the folks who are planning the show/events are aware of the website needing updating. I will remind them again. There is a ton of details to iron out when putting on a show of this magnitude. (Especially when the first venue double books the track) If anyone has a question about the show, they can email: Info@AllChevyShow.com
Or you can click on my signature and check out pics from last years show. Feel free to leave me an email and I will help in any way possible!

Thanks-Dan smile.gif

Stevo,
Yes, that will be the Days Inn in Bellevue. HawaiianCamaro has already made his reservations. It's right next to the show grounds at Bellevue Community College.
Pacific Raceways (formerly SIR) is about 20-25 minutes from Bellevue.

Info on the website www.allchevyshow.com (http://www.allchevyshow.com) has been updated.

Thanks DjD, we will be sure to notify anyone who entered early. It's hard to turn the horse around with WCA, who sets up their magazines a number of weeks before they print. And they are supplying us with the pdf files which we post on line. We've just about got the venue change all worked out!

We are intent on putting on a great show, please keep those suggestions and comments coming our way..

As Dan suggested, email info@allchevyshow.com, or email me at sbesser@coinstar.com and we will be on top of it!

Thanks,
Sam Besser

Sam,

I just heard that the show-n-shine has been moved to Saturday from Sunday so you have to choose either the auto events or the show? I thought it was great the way it was spread out Friday thru Sunday.

Also for those coming from out of town there is a very nice Embassy Suites right there near the Days Inn and Bellevue College. That is where we are staying and always have for that matter.

We are looking forward to seeing you all there!

Sam - you couldn't have posted at a better time... I have been sitting on pins and needles as all vacation time was canceled the entire months of Aug and Sept and I didn't think I was going to be able to make it... I just found out friday my request for exemption came through!! I have 2 weeks off from the 11th through the 22nd. I am trying to gather the troops in our local club (see link in sig) and be up there thurs in the PM. Hot Aug Nights is very popular among our club members and only 4 hrs drive so those making the trip will be diehard camaro folks I'm sure... As I get more info on our plans I'll post here in case others from CA want to caravan with us...

Oh - I fully understand the WCA horse ;)

Curiosity question here for that weekend, what do the hotels do for security regarding our cars parked at their hotel? Do we get to take up 1.5 parking stalls? Do they patrol hourly or more? I can just imagine the draw those cars have for the dark element of thieves. Dan? Does hotel insurance cover damage in their lots.

I've been to two WCA events where we stay over several nights. The host club is responsible for parking detail and has always had a designated show parking area with club members doing guard duty 24/7. Only show entries are allowed in the sectioned off areas. Also the hotel's have been security consious and seem to have extra security on hand at night...

Jim - does this mean your making travel plans?

graemlins/waving.gif Dennis Ive been hinting of coming to the Seattle event for a few months now, Dan has been keeping the pressure on me. Thought maybe you saw some of our earlier posts.
If there are no major issues in my work here, wife and I are trying to plan that as our summer vacation, in addition to a run to Denver to my sisters 50th Bday in July. If Im real good, I might try to make the Bowling Green show too.
So right now, YES we are trying to make the NW for combo car show, vacation, trip thru the mountains, never been that far before. Just promise me no snow.

Click,
I think you will enjoy the drive out - I have made the trip back to Indy twice in the last four years, and we are seriously thinking of heading back for the 50th running of the US Nationals NHRA race.
There are a few scenic stops on the way to enjoy, such as Mt Rushmore, and there are miles of open roads to let your Camaro come to full gallop!

DjD,
The events you describe were based at the hotels, correct? It is more likely that we will be providing our own hotel parking lot security with a mix of PNWCC members and show attendees. I've done this many times before, with different folks sitting up on different "shifts" to keep an eye on things..

Hi Sam,

One show was on site at the hotel, the other was about 8 miles from the hotel. Both had a sponsor club operated command post like a motor home and set up a check point into and out of the parking lot any time of the day or night. I couldn't have felt safer at either event. You guys and gals at PNWCC sound like you're right in line with what I've seen... graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The 2 host hotels were a bit upscale and had valet parking for regular guest and had their own security but the host clubs didn't rely on them for show security...

Dennis and Jim,
I'm really getting excited to meet you guys (and others)! Bellevue is a very nice town, sort of "yuppie" oriented. No worries! And no snow for Mr.Click lol.
P.S. I got the car running again last night!!! Apparently the battery cable fried/melted into the exhaust manifold somehow...After 3 weeks of sitting, it suuuure felt great to go for a ride last night!

Has anyone thought about organizing a cruise for nonracers to go to the XXX on Fri.? Wonder if they would block off an area for show participants. Will there be any security at BCC Fri or Sat. night if we want to leave a rig there? Thinking about trailering the Yenko Camaro and driving the Nova. Last year there were a couple of RV's that stayed in the lot at BCC. Do you know if anyone is planning that this year?? Does anyone know about trailer parking at either hotel??(now, don't give me a hard time  ) Really looking forward to seeing the guys from the South(Ca. that is!) :D Jim

Jim, We should put you in charge of parking and security - you sure have all the right questions! graemlins/beers.gif (and, we sure could use the help!)
I imagine that we will once again be able to accomodate a "few" motor homes in the same location. graemlins/boring.gif
The Day's Inn does have some trailer parking, not too sure about the Embassy Suites - I seem to remember their lot is pretty tight.
Since I'm not in charge of security, I don't want to promise any at the college, BUT we have traditionally had a trailer or motor home there with club memebers spending the night, and I have left my car there overnight before.

I've got a friend in Portland that wants to hook up with us on the way up there. He has a trick, very sweet 67 nova. He wants some info, details, on hotel, and length of stay.
How many are we going to have on the drive up? Are we all going to be able to hook up on the drive up?
From dunsmuir, it's a 10 hr. drive, without screwing around too much. LOL smile.gif
I'm sure for some coming from further south, if there are any, it wouldn't be very practical to try & make the drive all in 1 shot. Understandably.
I would like to see, and I'm sure alot of people on the road, a large group of first gens cruising up the hiway.
Any thoughts?

P.S. I changed jobs on the railroad. I'm working at home now, no traveling. By august, I'll be dying to get out of here. LOL ;)

Geeeez, the thought of all those cars and the things I could learn (I am a sponge for anything camaro related) is making me really think of an 1800 mile trip. Yikes... No way I could drive it with a wife and two small kids in the Camaro. So it would either become a trailer queen or go alone which aint gonna fly. Why cant it be in Chicago or Minneapolis, haha. I am gonna have to keep thinking on this one

We just made our reservations at the Days INN and wife got the time off work, so unless lightning strikes (looking up) we are gonna be there Friday afternoon.
If my Camaro runs great between now and the 13th when we leave, its coming with us inside it :D

If it has a problem then we drive the Maxima and still come out for the show. Its our summer vacation and we are gonna take it come HE** or high water.
Now here is the fun. I will expect all TC members here to sign our little guest book and we will put all the names in a hat for a special prize drawing for some special things compliments from our great state of Minnesota.
Anyone else wanna do something like that? See if you can come up with a more interesting package prize.
We will be stopping in Miles City Montana first night and Coeur d'alene on Thursday night, then on into Bellevue on Friday. If anyone is traveling along that route, let me know here and we can tag team along I-90.
Hope to see all you TC nuts there.

There's going to be lots to do, and the TC folks are going to be all over the place, but I might suggest that we pick a spot and gather for at least 1 cold one. There's neat places to go in Bellevue (kid friendly as well). Wow, I can't believe how fast the time flies! Stevo, you got that El Camino ready yet?

Steve, there's a nice quiet area at the back of the motel, with a couple picnic tables, we can bring coolers and folding chairs and bench race all night - it'll be a good place for TC members to meet!

Not too much trailer parking at the hotel, but we will make sure we have security at the college where there is plenty of parking. Security at the college will consist of MrDanB riding his unicycle around the campus, carrying his giant sling-shot and a bandolero full of paintballs.
After tech in we will guide folks up to the college, I think NWYENKO can tell you there are plenty of good spots there.

We will also have security at the hotel, where we will give Scott Settlemire a jumbo mug of 7-11 coffee and a lawn chair, so we can all sleep tight! graemlins/boring.gif
Seriously, a number of club members (including myself and show director Don Berry) will be staying at the hotel Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We want to make sure everyone's cars are safe!

I can't speak for Sam (mostly because I don't have a lisp :D ) But I waited almost 20 years to get my Classic Camaro! I feel fortunate to have "lucked" into finding this site. I appreciate all of the hours and sweat and frustration, and ofcourse, the money thrown into these cars. I feel fortunate to belong to the club that I do!! Sam (our president) makes EVERYONE feel like an important member. So you see Dennis...is it really "work" if you enjoy the people and the cars as much as we do? It's just a bunch of really great people pitching in for the common goal. They say that you're as good as the people whose company you keep...So please Dennis, I beg you, throw me in your trunk and take me down to Cali. when you go. Pleeeeaaase! tongue.gif

I will be riding around like this on the unicycle with the broken siren, although, By the time the show rolls around next week, I may have installed the thumb operated bell that sounds sort of like: ching-ching ching-ching. if I am cranky during the show, aproach with caution as I will be fully armed with the biggest sling shot on earth and a whole bandolere full of paintballs!!! graemlins/clonk.gif NAH, just meet us behind the motel on Friday evening...

Well just sent off my registration check and app. in the mail.
Got all fired up last night at Chicago Band concert in Rochester, MN. I got to meet and have supper with Scott 69ProTouring and his 2.5 yr old son.
The concert was AWESOME and got the oldie in me going, so I will have lots of tunes to broadcast to all your radios at the show in Bellevue.
Looking forward to meeting all the coco-nuts there. Jeff I need an XXL grass skirt too. :D

Hey guys, where will be a good place to wash up after these long rides some of us are going to be doing? I know my car will be full of bugs and little critters all over., Is there a nearby car wash or source at the hotel for washing them? I can bring my wash mit and chamois and towels but need hose and buckets if we can arrange that not to far from the hotel or show site. Any ideas?
Maybe some college cheerleaders to wash them for us, scratches can then be forgiven :D

Jim,
The hotel says too many guests to provide us with a wash (65 are registered at the hotel!) But DOn and I are putting together a resource list with a little map so you can find a hand car wash, auto parts store, food, drugs, etc.
What day are you getting in?

Thanks Sam, we arrive Friday afternoon sometime. Leaving Cor D'Alene that morning and scooting across Wash. right into Bellevue that day (I hope) graemlins/thumbsup.gif

If its not too late Id like to check in the hotel then go get teched in, then go wash the car so its only touch up on Sat. for the show. That list will be great to get us to a wash bay Friday sometime. Just hope to avoid rush hours too.

Will I do it this week?? YES!!

Hmmm, how will you find us?

Well thats another mess you got me into Aulie
Back from the shop and found my A/C leaking again only this time from the Evaperator inside the suitcase, the oil was dripping out of the bottom seam and the condensation drain. GRRRRR
So what I said is if all the other guys can drive without a/c, so can I. We are bringing ole Thunder anyway. Got the front end all greased up, bearings greased, tranny cooler line in radiator fixed, not leaking anymore, and shiney new red battery cable actually attached to the pan with the proper clips. wooohooo graemlins/beers.gif
A good wash job on Sunday and start packing it up for the trip. Getting excited to meet all you TC bums. My drawing box of goodies is growing too, got some VERY cool stuff to give away to the lucky TC member that wins our drawing.
You can find us like Stevo, size 14 tennis shoe imprints in the tar, hairy knuckle scrape marks followed by ladies size 5 shoes. Both wearing TC shirts and hats with sunglasses. Guess we are all going to look alike, scary thought.
Here is who to look for with Minnesota Plate in back reading "My69RS" collector issue.

Another road trip trick that works for me -- put on a nice layer of your favorite wax, focusing on the surfaces that will hit the bugs, and DON'T wipe the wax off until you get here.
(Don't try this on the windshield, although it does work on chrome). For the windshield, a good double treatment with Rain-X always works for me to keep the bug bodies from really sticking down.

See y'all Friday! (or Thursday, I'll be at the hotel both days) Look for the guy with the "Colonel Sanders" goatee! :D

If there is some selling that takes place, I could be talked into bringing along a good 4:11 Auburn posi gear and carrier, a Holley 750 DP Vac Sec. and give some good deals to TC members there. Something is afoot. Shortly after seeing a Hugger Orange 69 heading towards Woodinville, I spotted a gorgeous Deepwater Blue 67 coupe a couple of days ago, in the Totem Lake area. Earlier today, an equally beautiful Tuxedo Black 67 ragtop in Kenmore, followed no more than 1 min later by what looked like an original paint green 67 coupe. Usually, I'm lucky to see a single first gen a month around here. Are all these cars here for the show? Are they local or from out of town? Why aren't you dropping in for a beer?

Congratulations to our own DjD for the trophy in the Cruizer Class, I'm sure he would have done excellent in the points show but he wanted to spend time with TC'rs. He also picked up the best engine award!

deejaygee won honors for his original un-restored 67 Z/28, I spent so long looking at this survivor that I got sunburned in weird places.

It was great meeting other site members who did not make the picture (we took it late in the day before the awards ceremony) and the weather co-operated very nicely, cool mornings and hot afternoons. Jeff (hawaiiancamaro) was one of the busiest guys of the day, starting at 4am when he volunteered to pitch in for the parking lot security to when he needed a wheelbarrow to help haul LV's (see above) awards for his exceptional Camaros... and Chevelle. graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif (I think it was 6 awards!)

Just a short note here as the dial up in motels along our trip are horrible, around 24K and unsteady. Not unlike a few of us during Bench sessions in the parking lot each night,
What a wonderful bunch of folks in the NW and our vacation trip and car show far exceeded our expectations. My wife is thrilled with the new friends we met, DanB's wife Lilly helped my wife learn about things around their home area. Al and his wife Dot were wonderful canucks that hopefully will remember our smiles as much as we enjoyed theirs. DjD and his wife and daughter were always there with a smile as were DeeJayGee and of course that tall Hawaiian Jeff. Don and Sam and their club were totally awesome hosts and we know we have made some lifelong friends in the NW.
Our vacation highlight had to be the invitation to Kevin's little house and his awesome collection of chevys and a few 'other' cars. I think I had died and gone to heaven in his collection there. His hospitality was nothing short of perfect. I hope the deposit my car left behind cleaned up. My power steering hose came apart at the crimp and left spots all along my route but the Bellevue chev. dealer found a new hose and had me on the road by 2pm Monday. We made eugean OR. and will head thru the Cascades on Tue and Wed. finishing up in Montana and N.Dakota and home on Thur.
I will put together a trip analogy when I get home with pics and car talk but for now, thanks again to the folks in the NW for their friendship, help, acceptance and the awesome show...

ALOHA!!!
Got in this afternoon from a awesome weekend with some Great Chevy Lovers.

First off I would like to thank all of you who opened their arms and hearts to my sister and her husband who also attended the show. They left today also with nothing but kind words for all.

Got to meet a lot of great Team Camaro and Team Chevelle members along with some of the Guys over on the Yenko Site side of the house also. DjD and his family were true to how he is here on the board. Wish you would have come out at the end of the banquet earlier, we could have taken the "02 for a spin out to Town and back  right LV graemlins/waving.gif .

MrDan and his off duty supervisor were looking out for the full moons, nice to meet you both. Stevo, what can I say that DjD had not already told me about and from what I understand you have a new best friend that loves to talk talk talk. Even have some things in commen such as going to get ice or food for family and forgetting about it :D . Click and Mrs. Click. My hats off to you both, made the drive and then went as far as to letting my sis and husband tag along as I did also. Al, and the real boss Dot. Nice to have meet both of you hope the Chevelle gathering was just as awesome as the All Chevy Show was. Denis, you can send that 67 Z/28 to Hawaii anytime, (please E-mail me you got away and I have something I wanted to give you). Seattle Sam, Like before You came through with flying clolrs, looking forward to seeing the 67 done and the 70 soon. Guys I have to take a bit of this space to let others know the Mrs. DjD (Sharon) and my sis and brother in law took care of one of the vehicle owners drivers wife after she went into labor. For that I can see that Team Camaro Family IS NOT just a guy site but a FAMILY site 100%. I thank you for getting her to the hospital and giving up your time doing so.
Kevin AkA SuperCars from the Yenko site. Not many folks would open their collection up to 30 grease monkey gear heads that love Camaro's. That my firend I think you for. (Steve there was no way i could get the Orange Dana out sorry  )

Steve Sandlin (LVCAMARO) you are a true friend and I can atest that the speed bumps in the parking lot never scrapped on the 02 ZL1 until Click/Seattle Sam and Stevo all were inside of the car when we took it out for a road trip up to the Space Needle. Also the 69 Motion car and the 69 ZL1 have about the same power as DjD can tell you since when were put the two of them nose to nose and floored the engines all they did was sit and smoke the tires. I think thats why the Fire Dept responded. wanted to try it with the COPO RS and COPO Chevelle but we could not find them in same smoke :D LV really though the 02 ZL1 and the Motion and COPO RS cars were awesome to drive even if it was just from the trailers and back unloading them and loading them up. The 02 will set anyone back into their seats, heck it did me and im a 145 LB weakling graemlins/thumbsup.gif Hope your in town when Im in LV for the Super Chevy Show in November.

I know I left out some on the site here, YOu are not forgotten.

I took just about 500 Pics of the show cars (judged and show and shine) if anyone would like to have me send out some files of the cars.

Until November graemlins/beers.gif

We got in safe and without problems about 8:15p and I'm too tired to re-type what was lost so I'll say a big thanks to all that showed and made the show possible and will type more tomorrow!! What a WEEK it's been!! graemlins/beers.gif

Yeah sure, Dennis, "the dog ate my homework". Uh huh...

Seriously though, glad you made it back. Having you guys at the show, along with all the other Team Camaro riffraff, is what made the show special this year.

Thanks Denis, you were most gracious to share your home with Randy this past week. You should have had him wash your wife's car or mowed the lawn or something ;) Your survivor '67 Z is too cool and I want to thank you for putting me around in it and giving me a tour of the river valley area (I won't even try to spell it).

Al & Dot - It was about time we got to meet after all the e-mails and troll chasing we've done over the years. You two are truly a class act. The TC sites are only a small part of that and meeting you proved that out. graemlins/beers.gif

Sam - What can I say, you guys did a bang up job in every aspect of the event. The show was fantastic but the total package is what impressed me. Everyone from pnwcc is to be commended but I must commend two that really stood out. Dan and Scott would share "Miss Congeniality" if this had been a beauty pagent. Those guys were everywhere and helped out everyone! Please pass on my thanks to Don and the rest of the club...

Jeff - the midnight run to the nudie bar in the 02 ZL-1 and the flaming hood shots were a bit wild for me but fun. I still haven't figured out why the burning booze didn't hurt the cars paint! I guess it didn't matter since it was a rental car!! The girls enjoyed having your sister (Donna) come along on all their shopping excursions and I have to commend her and my wife for looking after the gal that went into labor and getting her to the hospital. I still think we should have put her in the back of Steve's Chevelle for the delivery!!

Steve - You have some great cars, thanks for bringing them out for us to enjoy. I wish you could have stayed around longer and gotten in some more bench racing with us. What out for that Jeff guy, he asked me for a ride over to where this trailer rig was parked and almost had the White Wonder loaded up while he was giving me a tour of the sleeper cab!

Dan - you rock! Thanks for everything, the week wouldn't have been the same if we didn't meet up. You car is coming along nicely and I look forward to pic's when you have it completed.

Jim - you are the MAN!! 3000 plus miles round trip. That says it all and you topped that by doing it all after telling the wife you were going to the market for some bread and milk and picking up that cute young gal you brought with you!! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Stevo - you are truly the car guys "Car Guy"! I enjoyed seeing your shop and projects and having you and Lynell catch up with us in Roseburg and cruising to Portland with us. You could have kept the ice chest stocked with ice a little better though! ;)

Wow! I know that's not everyone. Dana - it's always cool seeing you guys at these events and the black RSZ is a knock out. 68rs406, 68Yencoace, CamarosRus and anyone else that came up and said hi, it was cool to meet up with you guys too... And Kevin S if you are lerking, you have an awesome home and car collection, thanks for the hospitality. If you didn't make it over to see the cars Kevin didn't bring to the show check out the website Denis put together for him... www.corvettes-musclecars.com (http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com)

Anyway, meeting everyone made the event special and well worth not putting my car in the points judging so I would have the time to visit with all of you. graemlins/beers.gif

A great show! It was nice to see Dennis and Stevo again. Was great to meet Jeff, Jim, Al and Dan. I probably have forgotten someone? My only regret is that we made the trip with friends and between hanging out with them and judging on Saturday I had a hard time getting anytime to spend with my TC friends :( Next time the wife and I will come by ourselves so we can spend more time bench racing with all of you! MrDanB: Anytime you want to sell your car, I will give you what you paid for it! ;) Missed seeing Charlie, wouldnt that have been great to have added some of his beasts to the other great Super Cars brought by Steve and Kevin! Anyway, hope to see all of you again soon!

He eats like a bird, really did wash my car, and doesn't mind (actually enjoys) listening to me drone on, in the early hours of the morning, about 1967 Norwood factory trunk paint procedures. Oh, and that valley was the "Sammamish River" valley. And I just got back earlier today from having the Z dialed in at that dyno place... no more 'putting' around for me.

Wow, maybe I should have him come by the house more often... Denis - I scanned through the video of your restored '67 and must say I wish I had a chance to see it in person. By the way you are a great narriator and very easy to listen to.

"Sammamish" Should we change Sam's screen name to "Seattle Sammamish"? Any chance he's a desendant of a Willow? ;)

Dennis and DeeJay, I would have said hello, but I had no idea what you guys looked like. Every time I went past your white/white conv. there was a different person checking it out and the survivor Z was really neat. Hey, I found a 67 Z in Olympia.Granada Gold and wrecking hard in the front.Guy won't sell, orig. owner..

Oh well, maybe I need to get my car in the show... smile.gif

Just a short update, we pulled back into Brainerd at 830pm Thur. evening. phew.. I will be editing my photos and putting together an analogy of the trip with mileage and interesting stops to confirm that its the journey not just the destination that makes a vacation great.
AWESOME again you NW folks. LV it was great meeting you but sorry you had to jet out before the show. Hope to see more of your cars in the future, maybe I should join Jeff in November out there :D
Panther, Stevo, DjD, DeeJay, Al, Kevin, DanB, man the list is endless of super friends we have made.
More to follow in the next few days after I wade thru the mail and voice mails and emails
