View Full Version : 2003 Midwest Camaro Fest
rs1968ss Aug 7th, 03, 03:47 AM Its that time again. The 2003 Midwest Camaro Fest will be held in Independence, MO (near Kansas City) on Saturday, September 13th. It is a Camaro only show and we usually get cars from several surrounding states. This years show should be better than ever. I know of one new ZL-1 Camaro that is going to be there and probably a 69 Yenko as well. We have a ton of door prizes and even more awards.
If anyone needs information you can visit our club website at www.camaroclubkc.com. (http://www.camaroclubkc.com.) Here is the show info in Adobe Acrobat form:

You can email me with questions or post here as well. We have a block of rooms reserved at a nearby hotel if anyone is interested.
I would love to see some TC members there.

rs1968ss Aug 20th, 03, 04:37 PM Anyone????
click Aug 21st, 03, 06:00 PM Randy ya got me thinking real hard now. If I get my A/C evaporator fixed that might be a fun run to make. After doing 3000 miles to Seattle and back, Independence would be a easy cruise. Let me think about it and talk with the Mrs.

We'll have a 68, a 3rd gen, a couple of 4th gens and maybe my 67 if I can get the flowmaster exhaust on in time.

If I don't make it I hope you guys enjoy it!!! Very nice 'vert! I hope you make it up. I would love to see it.
MytMini Sep 12th, 03, 05:08 PM Thanks Randy! I would love to see your car! I know it by name. :D
This year though the vert is staying home. I have never had her that far away from home and although I think she is more than capable of making a 500 mile round trip I'm not about to hit the road alone. Hopefully next year we can bring my car and my buddy's 68 coupe.
Look for me and big blue to show up around 11:00. I've decide I have to come even if it does mean doing it alone. I just want to see a lot of these cars in person and meet some fellow owners. I'll be easy to spot walking around... big *ss grin, taking tons of pics with a digital camcorder, and focusing on only 1st gens. Well wait... that probably describes a lot of people. LOL
Actually I'll have on a red ball cap that says Owasso Rams on it. If you see me stop me... I'd love to stand around and talk!
rs1968ss Sep 13th, 03, 02:32 AM See ya there! I'll have a Camaro Club of KC shirt on but there will probably be a few. Just ask for Randy if I haven't found you yet.
MytMini Sep 13th, 03, 05:22 PM Randy
Just a note to let you know I had a great time today. Glad I made the trip even though it rained 99.9% of the time.
It was great to meet you and to see the White Rat in person. Needless to say it looks GREAT!
Jeff - HAD1NHS - (did I remember your name correctly?)
If you are lurking... it was great to meet you and stand around in the rain and talk. Great job bringing your car back from the 1/4 mile. I'd like to see it again when it is dry! If you happen to head to the Tulsa OK area give me a shout. Oh and throw that disc brake setup in the truck before you leave! :D
Next year I will definetly bring the vert!
joe clance Sep 14th, 03, 03:51 AM Awesome show and some great camaros. In spite of the rain, it was cool to see all those nice club members and their camaros. I had a great time.
I arrived with the rain, left in the rain with 1st place (in the unfinished catagory)and the beginnings of a cold.
It was well worth it.
Next year i hope to have the car completed to enter in the daily driver/or, modified class.
thx
joe c
rs1968ss Sep 14th, 03, 07:09 AM Thanks for coming guys! We did have a lot of very nice Camaros there. Even with the rain. Donald and Jeff it was nice meeting you both. Joe, I did not get a chance to meet you but I did get to announce your car as a winner. Very nice car by the way. That makes 4 years in a row that we have been rained on. We are due for a nice day.
Looking forward to sunny skies next year!
HAD1NHS Sep 14th, 03, 05:03 PM Donald
Excellent job remembering my name. You summed it up well, lousy weather but good show. I really thought it was well organized and everyone I talked to was great, it was well worth the drive from Des Moines. Donald and Randy, really nice meeting you and you obviously motivated me to "log in" vs. just peering in from the outside.
Thanks C.C.K.C.
Jeff
rs1968ss Sep 14th, 03, 05:30 PM Welcome to the "official" list Jeff! About time you stopped "lurking" and joined in the discussion. :D
Thanks for the compliments on the show. We put a lot of effort into the show. Now if we could just get the weather to cooperate. Look for the show to move next year. We may be moving it into August to try and avoid the rain. I'll be sure and post it when we get the date confirmed.
67RSM3 Sep 15th, 03, 08:16 AM Awesome show Randy and nice meeting you there. We all had a blast and are looking forward to next year.
