They forcast 6 - 10 inches of snow by noon on Sat. here.. oh well guess its winter. Sat. is also the worlds largest ice fishing contest, expecting almost 20,000 people on a lake for 3 hours. First place is Ford 4 wheel drive new pickup. 100th place is $10,000 and awesome prizes inbetween too. It raises nearly $200,000 for local charity work.
Here is our area radar for watching the snow. ;)

Guess I'll hafta fix the carb on the snowblower when I get home instead of working on the camaro tonight, then spend 3 hours moving white stuff off 2 driveways and 500 feet of sidewalk tomorrow instead of working on the camaro...

It's going to be a great weekend here in the 70's and I'm headed for LACR or California Speedway to watch some drag racing. You know there were some high clouds yesterday but they went away.

I wont be fishing, been there, done that lol.
Firing up the snow blower Sat. morning and do a few turns in 3 driveways on our little road. They plow, I throw the curled up edges back away so the driveways dont shrink over the winter.
The snow keeps our septics from freezing, I love it.

They said we would be getting several inches of snow about1 1/2 weeks ago...we got a very light dusting and it melted immediately. This week has been around 60 degrees! I know it will freeze again before winters done...Sorry about the sub temps back there Jim. Did you get the RS all tucked away for the Winter?

Just a few flurries so far here on the Jersey coast. Waiting to be called into work, I plow snow for the county and also the mechanic. I have seen so many snow fall totals on the news who knows how much we are going to get, But it doesn't look good.

Started snowing lightly in central NJ about 1/2 hour ago. Snowfall estimates are still 10"-15" in my area.

Kids are ready to go tubing and I am dreading the shoveling smile.gif

Hoping to finish up my garage door conversion to move cars and get my wifes car in the garage before the really heavy stuff happens tonight.

our snowstorm wimped out! They said 12-16, we got 4". Time to go out and move it with the shiny new 6 hp, 6 speed plus 2 reverse, 22" craftsman snowblower I bought last night to clear a foot. Almost seems like a waste of gas.

Ice is around 2 feet thick or slightly more after our -38 last week. They wont hold the event if its too thin, insurance and DNR watche it pretty close.
Notice no cars in the fishing area? They allow service vehicles to deliver to the admin. tents but they go in and come back out. No parking in that area. After the event, fish houses go back out there and folks drive all over the ice safely, most of the time.
They use 47 school buses to brings folks from Brainerd International Raceway where they park everyones cars and trucks. They expect around 15,000 people this year. amazing
Its a well run Jaycee Project for charity.
This is Sunday paper front page pic of folks walking out onto the lake from the bus stop at shore. The wind is 25mph and wind chill is -20 with the new snow drifting as you can see on the 'road' they are walking that had already been plowed 4 times today. Notice the portable pottys in the background too, imagine parking your a$$ on a zero degree plastic seat? After peeling off 4 layers of clothes? Are we nuts?

I can't beat those numbers, thank God!

But Uncle Sam sent us home early today due to heavy lake effect and those storms coming up from PA. The roads are just deathtraps. It took me 20 minutes to make the 7 minute ride home. Can't salt because of the below zero wind chill and they say to expect another 12".
I made my soldiers who come from the southern tier and Buffalo areas stay at the armory tonight. That's OK, they have a PlayStation and beer.

Looks like we got around 20-24" of snow here in central NJ. Glad we shoveled half of it yesterday so today wasn't so bad. Now it's drifting and blowing around like crazy.
