well i bought a radio on ebay a year ago that was told to me to be a 68.it installed fine but when i go to put the knob on the tuning side of the radio it seems to be to far recessed to get the knod to go on. is it possible i have the wrong radio or?????

Both shafts should be of the same height. The radio has two screws on the front to bolt it up against the backside of the dash and to a bracket in the rear of the unit to hold up the rear.

With wood grained dash panel in place, the tuning dial edge should be flush and the back side of the knobs should be flush with the panel. Meaning the knurled part of the knobs should be above the panel.

Has the shaft been shoved into the radio?

I bought a radio that has one shaft lower...the problme was that someone before me had unscrewed the locking nut and the whole shaft went down into the radio a bit. Check that.
