I need some help on the do’s and don’ts of converting a non an A/C car into a correct in every detail factory AC install on my 69 Camaro. I have accumulated everything that I know of, to do this right. At least I think so??? Anyhow my questions for here are:

1. Under the upper cowl panel on each end, near the windshield wiper shafts, there are two plastic factory installed ducts for the Astro ventilation. My guess is that on an A/C car never had these ducts, and these would need to be removed and the whole left should be welded shut??? Is this correct?
2. Is there any other physical sheet metal changes necessary other than the outer firewall section that the suitcase will bolt to???

Thanks for you help. If any of you have pictures of your car to help identify these and any other concerns, please post here or Email me privately at Z11Weaver@cox.net. Thank you for all the help on this question in advance and in the past…Tom

Welding the astro ventilation holes shut is an option. I think it will be very hard to get a bead all the way around. It is a very tight fit. A factory ac car did not have the holes where these came through the cowl area. You may be able to buy whatever Vintage air does to seal these holes. I don't know what Vintage does but it seems their installation has to contend with these holes also.

Any Vintage installers in non-ac cars. please pipe in.
