I need to stock up on my car movies and I want to get Gone In 60 Seconds, The Fast and The Furious, American Graffiti and maybe Christine! Anyone know of any other good ones? Oh, I want to get the original Gone In 60 Seconds.

really sucky movie but with some outstanding precision driving is "Ronin" (Ronan?).The europeans seem to be more into precision car control than outrageous stunts.There's an old Micheal Cane movie "The Italian Affair"with Austin mini's in the sewers of Rome (I think)-terrific driving!!

if you want to see a pair of 10 second cars- a ricer and a badass charger- run a 3 minute quarter mile, get the fast and the furious... icky movie all around. Ace ventura- When Nature Calls has the best prallel parking ever done.AceVentura-pet Detective has the coolest Monte Carlo ever made- rolls it 4 or 5 times and drives it away.Driven has Sylvester Stallone driving an Indy car the crumples like metal when it hits a wall- must be the new breed of carbon fiber.

I think the movie you are referring to is "Corvette Summer."

There is a very nice 2nd gen in there, if I remember correctly. Of course, the bad guy drives it.

Is it just me, or do the bad guys always drive Camaros in these movies ?

How about the Black Camaro in the movie “better off dead” a good HS type comedy.

Remember that movie..take this job and shove it? I loved the parts with Bigfoot. I think it may have been one of the first monster trucks on film. Great movie.

Not a movie but lots of Miami Vice shows had some great driving with some exotic cars and with Ted Nugent doing the back up music..wow..love that show.

One of my favorites is "Eat My Dust" with Ron Howard driving a 67-68 camaro.

Whats that one called with Richard Grieco(?) about a street drag racer in a mustang whos brother gets run over during a race. He has a good race towards the end against a 71 camaro. The camaro should have won in the end but the good guy always wins even if they drive a mustang in hollywood.

There was a remake of Vanishing Point so you'll want both for your collection. I still don't understand why this movie didn't get an academy award.

If you get Speedvision via cable or satellite, they run a lot of great movies for gearheads, in their "Lost Drive-In" time slot.

Christine is the only movie I know of that has a 67 Z28. I think it's black with gray stripes, driven by the bad guy, and gets T-boned by Christine in a gas station or convenience store. I don't know if the car is a real Z but it sure sounds like it.

There was a movie called Funny Car Summer.
Im guessing about '73 or so It chronicled Jim Dunn's funny car season if I remember

I know this might sound somewhat corny... But how bout "Heart like a Wheel" great grass roots film about where Drag racing came from! There was also a film that I can't remember the name of for the life of me... It wasn't all that great, but it did have a awesome 68 RS that was rebuilt during the movie and that I can remember! If it comes to me I'll repost!

That was a good movie. I have met many drag racers in my day as I crewed for a top fuel team for back in the early 90's. Those guys are rough, hardcore people. They are good old boys with lots of money.

Death Race 2000

The new cruise movie Vanilla Sky looks like it has a couple decent cars. Unfortunately, neither a Camaro. A Cutlass and another Mustang GT 350, I think. And in typical hollywood fashion, the Cutlass is destroyed after driving it off an overpass http://www.camaros.net/forum/frown.gif .

I find the remake of Vanishing Point rather lame as compared to the original. Another good one is Crazy Larry, Dirty Mary . Some great driving scenes, sad ending.

b-boy, The movie you listed "Hot Rod" is that the movie with the white Willy's? If it is do you know where I could get it?

The movie told the story about a group of youngsters, driving nice cars(one was an El Camino), who were herassing a family in their neighborhood. They dump garbish in their pool and throw piantbombs at their house untill the man of the family freaks out and gets back at them, by wrecking thier cars one by one.
Who knows the tittle of this movie?
Where can I order other carmovies on DVD?

The best part about the movie The Mexican, besides Julia Roberts, the nice rental car Brad Pitt gets an El Camino...The other rentals at the place were nice too a 69 camaro, a 70 chevelle ss, and a couple others I'll have to watch it again.

1968rs, As I post this, there is a copy of Hot Rod (VHS) on E-bay, #1492401180, 5 hours and 40 minutes to go on bidding, and 16 people so far having bid on it, price is at $50! If you don't want to go that route, I think it's still available at any major video rental store, if they don't have it in stock, they will usually order it for you, especially if you are going to buy it from them.

Where are "The California Kid" with Martin Sheen in his hotrod, and "The Driver" with Ryan O'Neal with the amazing parking garage scene and the chase with the Pick-up (Bad guys in camaro or firebird can't recall). If you didn't see those, do it asap....

I'm almost sure that the movie was called "Outrage" It was one of those ABC Movies of the week. I seem to remember a sweet 2nd gen Camaro and a tri-five in the movie too. I also remember reading somewhere about the flak ABC got from real life Hot Rodders who felt like they we're being unfairly stereotyped by this movie. I was about 13 or 14 and remember drooling over the kool cars.

I saw a great movie with Nick Nolte and the actor from Nash Bridges (they were really young). It's called Return to some county. I'm can't remember the name of the count. Great chevy/ford face off. Of course the chevy "smokes" the ford. You'll know what I'm talkin about if you've seen the movie. It's a good one.
