i just bought a complete set of leather seats and from what i was told, they were from a tahoe and year unknown. it is 6 seats all together with power everything and they are even heated and in excellent condition. i bought them for $425.00. the front seats have the a plastic cover on the door side area and they say air bag on the side. i dont know much about leather seats but i believe i got a fair deal even if the power stuff didnt work. i have not tested them yet because of what i believe are the air bags. does anyone know which wires are the ones that go to the air bags? i will be hooking up all the wires and dont want to accidentlly deploy the air bags especially if im standing right next to it.

thanks

I'm sorry to say I dont know on the wires, and I hope you don't want to put them in a first gen. camaro. I installed a set of leather seats from a Mitsubishi Eclipse in my Camaro, and they sat to tall. The seats must sit as low on the floor as possible. The problem is there is only about 21" between the inner Rocker panel and the transmission tunnel. My seats were too wide !
I now have Corbeau seats that fit great ! Good Luck ! Tom

Angel, If there like a steering wheel air bag the wires should be labeled, and I think, if I remember right, It's a yellow harness with a orange safety plug? Maybe? Just be careful.
Might want to call a dealer to be sure.

TJS69, lol that's the same seats I picked up for my 68 (got them CHEAP)I had the same problem!
I'm planning on going with the Corbeau TRS wide myself. Love the way thay feel. Hope they fit.

Airbag wires are bright yellow and usually have a warning label.(not always) The seats should have a SRS Logo on them if they have the bags.

shoddy,

on the side of the seat, there is a plastic cover and it says air bag. im assuming that there is an air bag behind it.

thanks

Thats a fair assumption unless it has ben removed(if its even possible)Air bags are big bucks, could have been removed and resold before you got it.I would look for the yellow wire with the orange safety plug like Datona said. I dont think it will go off without being hooked up to the original ECM (computer)

Where'd you get the seats? Junkyards usually take the bags out around here. If the panels still intact, the bag's in there. You can get around $100 for the bags alone. Make back some of the money you spent on the seats.

I think '98\'99 had bags in the seats? Maybe there were other years as well. I just know those years did.
As far as getting them out..... I'll leave that to someone who's done it.

Yeah the wires will have a yellow sleve on the wiring harness as Daytona said.
Not sure about taking them out but you may have to take the seat apart to get at them and you may end up with just a hole there once they are out.
Just watch out for the yellow wires!

man,

ive been checking on ebay for what these seats have been selling for. i got a great deal on them. for all 6 seats, it only cost me $425. i saw a pair of just fronts identical to mine for over $1400.00. maybe i should sell them.

i'd probably just sell them and make enough money to buy some different seats.

I would too! The airbag seats are big bucks. I would sell them and buy something else and pocket the difference.
