Hey guys, I have been looking for a 1st gen in my price range for awhile now. I found one that is on e-bay that was close enough for me to go take a look at. I would just like to see what you guys think and how much it is worth.

It is a 68 camaro (supposedly SS) with a fresh 396(non # matching) with a th350 and a 12 bolt. The interior is in good shape. I was a hounds tooth interior but the seat are not correct, but it does have the correct door panels and is in nice shape. The rest of the interior is nice with a new head liner and package tray.

The body is not in bad shape. It had the quarter and trunk pan replace sometime in the 80's, but they look good. It needs a new front fender, but the guy has one for the car. The doors look completly rust free, just needs knew door hinges. The weather stripping could also be replaced. The only place that I thought might be a concern for rust is around the back window there might be a little bit starting. The car can use a paint job to make it look nicer, but could be driven with the paint it has.

It is on e-bay right now and it is at 6,000. I was thinking of bidding on it, but going no higher than 6,500. What do you guys think? give me your opinions. I also understand that what a car is worth is different to different people but I am just looking for opinions.

Here is a link to e-bay where the car is. The paint is not as nice as it looks in the picture and he also has inner fender well for it too.

BB, drives, complete? Not too bad a deal. Seen worst go for alot higher. Although it is "claimed" to be an SS, hard to say without Doc's. I would really go see it if its not that far away. Buying on-line is always risky.

a big block driver for under $10k probably is a pretty good deal. needs work- but to me, that's better than being too nice to drive. you could be driving and enjoying the car while you gather up the parts it needs, which makes the car that much more enjoyable and makes it seem like you didn't waste your money on it.
since you looked at it already, did you ask if the guy would take cash and end the auction early?
