I just rebuilt the carburator on my 69 last fall which is a little 2 barrel and it was working fine before I stored the car for winter.

The car wouldn't start this Spring because it wasn't getting fuel so I cleaned out the fuel line between the fuel pump and the carb and now it gets too much gas and the engine floods when I try to start it.

What should I look for, a sticky float, or a float set too high, or an accelerator pump adjustment? Anything else?

Most Likely it is a stuck float, try a little gentle tapping on the float bowl. If that doesn't work then you will have to go inside the carb & fix it.

Try blasting the needle and seat with WD40 and jiggling the float. Just don't bend it as it determines the depth of fuel in the bowl. Chances are your carb bowl went dry at some point.

It will be a good idea to remove all your plugs and turn the engine over to blow any gas that may have leaked down into the cylinders out.
