For my D-1 to fit under my hood, I'm gonna need to get a new hood..So...price is matter right now...couple hundred diff...plus considering I need an electric fuel system..and I have well exceeded my budget that I discloused w/the boss(my wife)...haven't we all...okay off the soap box!

So...will I hate myself if I get a lift off fiberglass hood (Harwood for example) or should I tuff out More of the gorgeous weather Texas is showing already and let the CAMARO sit longer until the extra $$$$ is feasable? See what I am saying....who has experienced BOTH...? The look of a lift off can be COOL but is it a PAIN in the $$$? ANyways as always all the OPINIONS in the World helps me decided an overwhemed mind to complete the project!!! Thanks...

Pro,
I think this is really a personal decision. My 67 race car had a lift off hood, but it was not removed very often. On a street car that you may want to easily open the hood at cruises, car shoes etc, I think I would go for the hinged hood for ease of opening. The lift off can be a pain without a helper unless you have a trailer or other surface to set it on as soon as you take it off.
Hope this helps,

I personally plan on going with a bolt on stinger-style from www.vfnfiberglass.com (http://www.vfnfiberglass.com) someday. I agree, no fun to have no place to put your hood and to need a helper to get it off.

A lift off on the street is a PIA. I did it years ago because it was cool. I was sorry I did.
