Purchasing a Tamaraz fiberglass hood but, would like to see what a 4" or 5" hood looks like on 67 or 69 camaro...mine is a 69 camaro BB, D-1...so to be on safe side think i'm gonna go w/5", but might make huge mistake if 4" would be okay, WOULD LIKE TO SEE HOW MUCH THAT ONE INCH MAKES A DIFFRENCE ON LOOKS ALONE...? On my steel 2" cowl hood the hat on charger, top of carb is hiting hat w/another inch to close....so tryin to figure this out...thanks for the help...

Procharged69, If I think tamraz has hoods on ebay. They look like glasstek hoods but I am not sure if they are. Glasstek and tamraz are in the same state. Any way here are some pics of glassteks 4" and 5".

Hope your not in a hurry for it.Tamraz has a reputation for being SLOW. Took over a month to get a sway bar i bought using the 'Buy it now" option on Ebay. Also high on shipping.

What carb hat and which intake manifold are you using?

The first carb hat I believe, not the new one, this one fits right on top, old style, Scott informed me they work better, people were having problems w/new ones that looked like an air cleaner type hat....Yet, I'm gonna go with the 4 inch cowl hood, mainly because my stock hood, which is a 2" almost fits. Plus I need to fit the hose that comes across.
Yet do you mind me asking camcojb what type of fuel system are using from front to back? This could really help a lot, because fuel system and hood and I'm runnin around w/my D-1SC no what I mean...thanks and I appreciate all the help!!!

The last carb I ran I used an Aeromotive A1000 electric pump, 1/2" hardline and their regulator for carb use. Worked excellent, same pump as I use on the EFI versions. I have also had good luck with the Holley 350 electric pump and Mallory boost-referenced regulator. My buddy ran a standard Edelbrock 6 valve mechanical pump with his that we boost referenced; it made 691 rwhp with EFI, but made about the same power with a carb and that pump kept up fine. Had a wideband on it and there was no leaning out anywhere.

Did you replace sump in gas tank or not? Also did your friend?...I've talked to aeromotive and think'n about buying there kit not sure how much it is though...they recommended same thing...A1000 pump and #13204 reg. Will it be okay to change the lines like you to 1/2 lines from front to back to stock gas tank, i figure with 3/8 line and sump? Then on setting the fuel pump and reg. will I set it to an actual figure of psi...if so...do you have an idea to what? Learning as I go here and the wisdom is invaluable thanks...never used electric set-up.
