I didn't see a power brake booster or disco tech brakes. Has a drum brake master cylinder. Shouldn't it have a factory 780 Holley?

It's missing the power brake booster, but look at the brake pedal, it's a disc brake pedal. Somebody might have removed the booster if the car was raced and too radical for vacuum boost. But looking at all the parts that are dated after the car's build I would guess it's a built up Z28.

Nice car!! The seller doesn't seem to be trying to fool anyone...

Quote from the ebay ad...
WHILE THIS IS NOT A PROVERBIAL "NUMBERS MATCHING" VEHICLE, IT COMES WITH FULL GM DOCUMENTATION ESTABLISHING AUTHENTICITY AS AN ORIGINAL 1969 Z28.

Wonder what that documentation might be?
10D car with a January DZ engine, 1972 Holley, February rear axle, etc. Reserve hasn't been met yet, I guess 25K doesn't get you much anymore does it.

No ZL2 hoods in October of 68, and when one replaces the fuel lines one might want to get rid of the dual fuel line clips under the car (see the undercarriage pictures).

Yeah, I was wondering what he meant by that? Does he have the POP, broadcast sheet, window sticker, GM of Canada paperwork? It's an early car(October) with later components(Jan engine, Feb rear) so it's hard to know if it's a real Z28 without documentation.

Most of these "clone" cars (if proven to be) never has the correct argent grill.

Also, the '69 Z came with a built in Tach were as this one has a after market colume tach. ...And what about the center console and console gauges. they are not there either.

Other then that, it's a real goo looking car. In fact it is the excat color combo that mine was originaly. Now that see it, I'm thinking of going back!

Not all '69 Z/28's came with a factory tach. This car is early enough to not have come with one...

Without contacting the seller nobody can say if his doc's are real or not and it wouldn't be shocking to see a real documented (pop or build sheet) '69 Z/28 get pieced back together with wrong date parts the way parts are selling these days...

As for the orig question, let's change it some...

What do you see wrong that the seller doesn't list or bring to your attention in the ad?

MarkC-I noticed the fuel line clips, too, but only because my 69 X77 car has the same double clips. Now,I don't study these cars like some of you guys do,but I know my car is a real Z.I've owned it since 1975 and it is an X77 car.I know the fuel line is original because I've owned the car for so long and the line is in terrible shape,it needs to be replaced.I was under the car just this past Sat. looking at it!
I realize that some of the hi-po Camaros had a fuel return line but I was unaware that there would be a difference in the clips?
Anyway,my point is-my original car has the double clips too.

What do you see wrong?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2471208810 Since you asked and for those of you that like to critique your Z/28 cars, here are two bits from a couple of Z/28 nuts in Canada. See if we missed anything. (lol)

Wrong Tranny 1968
Mini Starter
11” 621 Bell Housing ?
1968 Hurst Shifter
Moroso Alternator Pulley
Wrong Alt Bracket & Negative Cable Location
Small Ear Rad Cap
No Exhaust Manifolds
No Smog System
No Heat Shields
Trunk Drain Plugs appear upside down
Engine Code Looks like “Restamp” (poor alignment and font spacing)
Wrong Distributor
Service Dated Carb
Wrong PCV Valve & Hose
No PCV Hose Support Bracket
Drum Brake Master
No Booster for Disk (Mandatory for Z/28)
No Metering Valve
No Proportioning Valve
No Forward Light Harness Clip
Wrong Battery
Real Bad Exhaust Hangers (ouch)
Wrong Shocks (all 4)
Wrong Lower Rear Shock Plates (Generic GM replacements)
Wrong U Bolts (too many – missing inner studs)
Wrong Rear leafs ( incorrect band clamps too)
New Gas Tank? “NOT”
Wrong Muffler
Wrong Wheels (Looks like FW Slots)
Wrong Tires
Wrong Trim Rings (no inner lip)
Wrong Shifter Handle
Missing Pedal Trim?
Seats are Bunched ( Hog Ring Problem or Seat Buns Toast) “Non Immaculate”
Incorrect (Walmart) Tach 
Head Rest are Mismatched
Silver Paint on Rad Support (Possible Overspray)
Missing Front Outer Bumper Bolts / Brackets?
Argent Silver Grill ? (help me on this one)
Missing Antenna & hs a Radio in Dash
Wrong Spoiler for Early Car. (should be narrow 68 style)
Wrong Hose Clamps (Mixed Bag)
Wrong Oil Filler Cap
Missing LH Horn
Wrong Wire Looms
Front Drum Brakes? (look through front wheel)

Please don't take any of these remarks out of context kids. We are simply critiquing the car so see what is obvious to the eye. As far as the car being real or not, the above should draw a few conclusions for those of you in the know!

I was surprised when I removed my fuellines recently and the clip just before the rearframe was the dual-line clip. My car is a true X77. So apparently just this clip was a dual, all the others are single line clips.

If anyone should be an expert on rust on a 69 Camaro I feel I am fully qualified LOL smile.gif The floor pans are covered in under coat probably hideing the fact that they are missing since these cars seem to rust from the inside out due to leaking windshield etc. Cars like this for 25-35 thousand USD are the reason I'm glad I am doing a complete on mine when I'm finished I will know what I have.
