I have a friend with what appears to be an original 69 LA Z28. It has no console or dash mounted tach. The cars does have a flat rectangular tach mounted to the top of the dash. It has a GM bowtie molded in the top of the tach. Was this an option or dealer installed part? Thanks,
Gary

Sounds like an over the counter GM tach that was available at the dealer back in the day. It was not factory installed.

These Tachs were over the counter items. They are very hard to find these days. I recently sold an NOS on Ebay for $475.00. They look cool on a car that does not have a dash tach.

Thanks Wacky. A friend of mine has one in his Z28 that has no console or dash mounted tach.
