Trying to help my friend remove and replace the heater core in his 67 BB Camaro. I thought it would be easy to remove the inner fender well as a Chevelle but have learned it's not as easy. As of now I have the entire inner fender well unbolted and the botom of the fender and still having a hard time to make space to get my hand inside to remove the heater box bolts.
Any tips suggestions?

You should not need to remove the inner fender. You just need a good 1/4"socket set with a correct length extension to get at those buried nuts. Then pull the heater assembly from inside the car.

Ok - so do I need to get to the bolts that are on the round part of the heater box where the heater motor is?

I just did a core on my 69 last week. You do not need to remove the inner fender, nor do you need to remove ANY of the bolts/nuts around the blower motor.
There are FIVE nuts on the heater core box you need to remove from under the hood - four of them you can easily see and one on the bottom of the box thats a ways in toward the fender but not all that hard to get. They should be 7/16".
After those five are out you can remove the under-dash heater box. Remove the glove box, and on mine I had to remove the console to get enough room to swing the whole thing out - 67 might be a bit different - I'm not sure.
PS mine is W/O AC

I tried dropping the inner fender on my 68 small block camaro -It didn't work and I had NO room to reach the bolts. I have heard of people cutting access panels to get in there. It looks like the only other option is to remove the outter fender. I need to get in there as my body shop left out a plennum that bolts behind the heater box. I have opted to leave it out as I am too scared to pull the freshly painted outter fender!!

First of all fellas its a 67 camaro you have to take the bottom finder blots out and losen the top take a block o wood to pry or get the space needed. The case and the motor on a 67 has to come out from the out side. The nuts are tricky but with the right small socket it can be painless.

If we're still talking heater core here, not blower motor. Read BPOS post again. You don't need to remove anything under the hood except the heater hoses and 5 stamped nuts. The heater box comes out from under the dash (remove cardboard glove box) and the heater core is in the box. Two screws and she's out. The two very hard to reach self tapping screws behind the fender hold the underhood blower housing in. This does not have to be removed.
