I HAVE A 1982 Camaro with an original V8 305 quadrajet carburator. I am going to replace the engine by purchasing a rebuilt longblock and then fitting it with aftermarket intake manif and carburator. My first question is should I go with a 350 instead of the 305.
What intake manifold and carburator do you recommend?
I am not looking for high performance 500hp, just something decent and that does not require all the emissions and computerized information that is in there right now.

Yes, by all means do a 350. If you do it right, you'll keep it legal, and no one will ever know.

I agree with JimM, go with the 350. As for the carb and intake it depends on how much $$$$ you have to spend. Around $4-500 could get you something fairly nice.

350's got my vote... even in stock form the power difference will be big.

All right I am convinced I will order a 350 long block. What do you recommend for intake manifold and carburator?

throw a Performer intake on a 350 long block- get the one with the egr if you have inspections- with the stock q-jet carb on it. add some headers and a cat back exhaust setup- i prefer the Flowmaster sound personally- and keep all the electronics hooked up and it will look stock and run better than the stock 305 evr did.
