Well, I think I've gotten myself into a little bind. When I put my new front harness in, I ran it up over the inner fender instead of along the inside of the inner fender as it's supposed to. Idid this to be a little creative and get the wires out of plain view. My problem now is that the vacuum tank won't fit, because the bulk of the harness is coming out right where the tank goes. My question is, will the system work with a smaller tank, either an aftermarket type vacuum canister or a cut down version of the original tank????

Yes, it will work with a smaller tank, but, be forewarned, it may take alittle longer for the selected event to happen.

Vacuum tank is for volume demand. You select an event to happen, its instantenous because of the volume of the OE (large) tank. Replace it with a smaller tank, the same event selected will take a longer time to happen because of less volume of vacuum available, engine intake vacuum keeps pulling, but at a smaller flow.

I ran my wiring harness up in the fenderwell also to hide but I was still able to use the factory vacuum canister location.

I completely removed the canister. Haven't had any problems at all.
