I'm trying to get my Vacuum Headlights to work on my 68 Camaro. I ordered the Vacuum relay ( which was missing when I got the car) from Firewheel Classics. My problem is I can't figure how the vacuum lines were supposed to fit. The top two line fittings are so close together the vacuum lines will not both plug in at the same time. The hoses are correct as far as I can tell and even have the right color striping. The fittings on the relay are oval shaped for top and bottom and slightly tapered on the middle fitting. ANYONE know anything about these relays. I've been trying to get the blasted headlights to work for a while now and can't seem to get them to work. All the parts are now together and one actuator (drivers side) just barely begins to open and the other one justs sits there. I'm thinking I'm loosing too much vacuum in all the fittings but thats just a guess right know. Anyone know a good way to troubleshoot these things.

Thanks
Ray

Ray - Take a look in our tech reference section. Here's a shortcut to something that may help you. http://www.camaros.net/techref/articles/ftecref001.html

It's written for a '69 but the only difference I in the '68 that I am aware of is the vacuum tank has 2 ports init and the tee that feeds the center of the vac relay and the tank isn't used. Looking at the drawing if you unplug the black from the tee and run it to the tank and then remove the tee completely you'll have the '68 config.

There is one other differrence and that's the line filter inline from the manifold.

Hope it helps...
