hey guys...I have a question. In your guys opinion, which are faster...muscle cars such as my 69 SS-350 Camaro OR imports such as civics, etc. I have always thought that because musclecars have V8s and imports have little 4 bangers...musclecars would be faster. But i see some of these imports that are runnin pretty fast and have heard that they can easily beat American musclecars in certain cases. Is this true? How could it be...a V8 is twice the engine as a 4 banger! Could you guys give me all the reasons and info on why our American V8 muscle is faster than japanese 4 bangers...that is if they are faster. By the way, i ask all this for my knowledge but also because i am trying to convince this 1 guy at school that our muscle cars are faster (that is why i want good lines to prove him wrong! :D ) thanks guys! Also, dont our old musclecars last a heck of alot longer! Also, how are the Quartermile times for both types of cars, which is faster? thanks again everyone.

I ask all these questions because unlike the guy at school that thinks those imports are faster, i want to know what i am talkin about when i talk (he actually knows nothing about cars or engines...he just says what he thinks is right). It is really annoying too because he is like the only kid at school that argues with me, everyone else thinks musclecars are faster. Just give me all the known reasons why American Muscle is better (concerning performance, durability etc). thanks!

All the import cars that are really quick have aftermarket "everything" under the hood. Wanna take a first gen Z28 and put huge shot of NOS on it??? I dont think there will be any 4 bangers in sight ...other than the rearview mirror! There has only been 5 import cars to ever break 100mph from the factory or about the same to go under 14 sec. in the quarter. Check out this link and you make the comparison:http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/general/musclecars-50fast.shtml Pretty interesting reading. Kevin
