A 4-post lift doesn't require any special floor - it just sits on pads on the columns, and you can roll it around if you get the caster kit. A 2-post is better if you're going to do a lot of chassis/suspension work, but you need a reinforced 6"-minimum slab to carry the cantilevered loads a 2-post generates where it's anchored to the floor. I've had my Double-Park 4-post for five years, and I'm very pleased with it.

Have your door guy set up the door in the lift bay as a "high-lift" so you can work on the car at full height with the door fully open; my horizontal tracks are only 8" from my 12' ceiling and I can open the sectional door any time.

"nice and clean"
You aint kiddin, talk about making a guy feel guilty. I can hardly find my car much less my tools. I do like that lift though. What would one expect to pay for a decent four post lift?

Yes, I was - spent 21 years with Chevrolet Engineering and Manufacturing, then 16 more with Chrysler. 4-post lifts run from $2500-$3500 depending on options, installation, etc. There's nothing like working on the bottom of your car while you're standing up graemlins/thumbsup.gif
