I wasnt sure where to post this but,,, I picked up a 140mph speedo from Classic and it does not have the speedo cable hold down on the back. Can I take the one off my old speedo? If so how do I do it without breaking everything? Than how do I install it on the new speedo?
Thanks,
Mike

Well I contacted Classic yesturday and they said it should be in there so I told them I had a friend who ordered one from Ricks that came the same way so the tech man went and inspected some and found out they did not have any on any of the ones they had in stock. So when he called me back he was dumbfounded about it and what to do or how to remove the one from the stock speedo. Has anyone else bought one with this problem? How can I remove the clip from the stock speedo with out destroying it? Then how do I reattach it? Do the 120 mph speedos have this same problem?
Thanks,
Mike

I looked at one I have in the garage, the clip just slides off. It’s not attached in any way. It appears that it holds the cable in place by friction the same way a pipe clamp works.

I had to go out and look at the two I have.... it's just a slide-on type clip like I thought. Not a problem at all.

Wow, How does it slide on? Mine appears to be pinned or rivited? It looks factory to me. It has 2 small studs or pins or rivits not sure and I cant figure out how to slide it off? Any comments?
Thanks,
Mike

There’s two holes, one on each side of the notch on top of mine, but there isn’t and wasn’t any pins or rivets in them.

Ron,
Those are the holes I'm talking about but they seem to have either pins or rivits sticking out of the holes any ideas?
Thanks
