We bought our 67 conv. this spring and are getting ready to store it for the winter and would like advice on best steps to take. It has spent its entire life in Vegas and does not know what rain is... much less cold, and we are sure it would not appreciate the Indiana winter. (not to mention I am not ready to sacrifice my side of the garage) So, off to storage it must go, just dont want to skip something important in the process. Also, what position is best for the top. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and so glad I found this site.

Misshaley, if you are planning to crank her back up in the spring, I am not sure you will have to do a whole lot....could be wrong. Maybe disconnect the battery, I wouldnt leave much gas either. As for the top, leaving it up will keep the interior protected from dust and other things. I know when I didnt drive my car in the winter, I used to go out every few days and start her up and let it run a bit...not sure if your're able or want to do that with your car. Welcome to the site.

misshaley, go to Bench Racing forum for November 23rd, and click on winterize. I had some of the same questions. Good luck.

Thanks for the info... I had done a search before I posted, not sure why the thread you referenced did not come up. Great info!!!, but one last question. Should we latch the conv. top or leave it up but unlatched. Most everything is original including the weatherstripping and not sure if latching the top will breakdown the rubber.

I leave the top down all summer (with a towel in the folds of the window) and up and latched all winter. No probs after 15 yrs.

I'd latch the top for sure, and if your storage is unheated, take the battery home with you.
