BreathWeapon Dec 1st, 04, 08:09 AM Tachometers have no horsepower ;) jackr Dec 1st, 04, 08:24 AM Weren't the 6K redline tachs only in Z-28 and 396/375 cars ? paulm Dec 1st, 04, 08:55 AM That's what I've read.... Gary L Dec 1st, 04, 10:25 AM http://www.camaros.org/diffs69.shtml This would verify what you are thinking. If all else fails see what CRG has to say. graemlins/waving.gif 12run Dec 1st, 04, 10:46 AM If it's an 8000 rpm tach with a 6000 redline it could be Z-28 or 396-375. There was also a 7000 rpm tach with 6000 redline that was 396-375 only. William Dec 1st, 04, 11:37 AM The 6000/7000 tach was also used for Z/28s until about February '69. Also used on both COPOs. A relative has a 325/396 car purchased new. Has a 6000/7000 tach. This why we CRGers like to say "normative practice." Unreal Dec 1st, 04, 05:17 PM 6/7 tach was for L78 and L72 for the entire model year. It was used on Z/28 until early 69, and then switched to 6/8. I've always been curious as to why the switch on Z/28, and not the solid lifter b/b. |
