Paxton makes superchargers that hide under the hood, and are not the flashy chrome ones typical of a street rod. This may be what you are after since your car will look stock from the outside, yet still be supercharged under the hood; ideal for a 3rd gen (I have seen a few 3rd gens with traditional chrome "blowers" sticking out of the hood and I think they look out of place). I think the Paxtons run a couple grand or so, not too sure, but do a google search for the company and you should find some info.

can also look at the ATI procharger. www.procharger.com (http://www.procharger.com)

turbos are neat, but they get more complicated and more expensive generally.

If you're bolting this onto a stock 305, you're probably not going to be able to put much boost into it.

I agree. A supercharger will end up giving you less fuss. On a performance standpoint, the turbo may give greater numbers on the top end, but a s'charger kicks butt all throughout the powerband. Why wait for turbo lag to quit when you can be hearing that great 'cricket' sound whirling under the hood of your new supercharged beast. I also agree with BREATHWEAPON that a centrifigul charger would be better aestetically than a roots type blower. If you're looking for that PRO STREET look then by all means have that nasty(in a good way) blower sticking out of the hood. In my opinion, I'd stick with the centrifigul until to minimize space. -Chris

To me turbo is too much of a pain with all the plumbing as compared to a supercharger.

What is the rest of the drivetrain of your car? Especially the rearend? If this is stock I see many problems ahead...

Besides that a turbo is easier on parts, more economical when in use, but harder to install and more expensive. Turbolag is a thing of the past but you need to do your homework. Blowers can be bought as a well engineered kit for reasonable money.
