I am looking into the possibility of mating a 96 trans am automatic shifter to a 200r4 tranny. Has anyone done this? Any ideas on if it would work and how to accomplish it? I am trying to convert the whole interior of a 96 trans am into a 69 camaro and want the console to look uncut. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Should be very simple. Both are a GM 4 speed auto transmissions. Only change I can think of would be possibly modding or replacing the pan bracket that holds the cable to the trans.

4L60's are electronically controlled (that's what GM made in '96). I don't know if that will make a difference or not.

it will hook up really easily- if you wanted, you could hook that shifter upt to a 3 speed TH350 without any hassles as long as you had the Trans Am lever that bolts to the side of the tranny.
