I am about to put my 454 back in 69 SS with PS and a new set of Hooker 2" Comp headers. I was told I needed offset mounts and/or mounting brackets to slide the engine towards the passenger side a little. The new motor dyno result was 540HP so I need some serious mounts.
Can someone tell what I need and where to go?
Thanks,
Dave

I believe you should get a set of chassis mounts for a BBC. These are the mounts/stanchions bolting to the crossmember and are availiable from the restoration suppliers.

The engine isolators also need to be for a BBC. Along with the front connection points, you will also need a BBC transmission crossmember to offset the trans the same amount to the pass side.

Another alternative would be to mount the engine with a front mount plate and bolt/weld it to the frame rails.

IMO, I would probably swap out the driver's isolator for a Moroso solid unit to prevent the engine from twisting/pulling the standard mount apart. Leave the rubber on the passenger side.

Always install into the empty engine bay the driver's side header, then the engine. Your patience will love you.

If you have a SBC front sway bar, remove it. They do not have the relief for the harmonic balancer of a BBC.
