1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS For Sale

This was a one day auction that started last night for $295 and was only for pre-approved bidders. It said to e-mail for info and bidding. Needed FAST Sale for $9,950. It was a black hard top with a 396 and deluxe interior that looked totally restored.

I e-mailed asking for the location and if it had clear title and expected no reply. This morning, I don't see the car listing anymore, but I did get a reply.

The person was Mary Nicholson21@msn.com

Here is the reply:

Hello Sir,

I am glad you are interested in my vehicle.
I want to let you know all the details about this deal so everything will work fine.
Some words about the car:
First of all the car is fully restored and looks just like in the pictures. It is in imaculate condition and has no scratch on and hasn't been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. This is a classic car that has a lot of the original parts and the tires are almost new.The title is clear ,it is not a salvage one. The car belongs to my grandfather. He is very old and can't take care of it anymore. He put me to sell the car.I have legal documents by wich I can transfer the title to your name.
The car is now in Italy as my grandfather lives here.He loves this kind of cars and he collected and restored them. The car is mostly garage kept and rarely used.
Because I can't carry all his things back home I am selling them. I am willing to sell it and ship it to any of the EU countries or to US.I will not ship to any African,Asian or Eastern European countries.I know that the price is low but I have no use for the car and I want to get back home as soon as I sell it.I want to sell the car asap so I am willing to pay 65% of the shipping fees nomatter of the location .The company I'm dealing with '' European-Shipping'' offered us a disscount for the shipping, so I will support 65% of it and this is the main reason I want to use this company as a shipping service. You will not have to pay any additional taxes.Once again, you will not have to pay all the shipping costs, only 35% of it.
Delivery Estimated Time: 17-21 days
Price: $9,500 - $3000 prior to shipping - the balance after you receive and inspect the car.
Inspection Period:3 days
Shipping Service:'' European-Shipping'' (door to door)
Terms: I offer a complete customer satisfaction guarantee or your money back. This policy means, that if the vehicle is not as described then you may return it for a 100% refund. If the items are returned, they must be returned in the exact condition as shipped and it will return on my costs.
If the car is what you are looking for and if you agree with these conditions then I will be glad to close this deal with you. In order to end this deal I want you to deposit $3000 to a Western Union agent,if you need more details about this please contact me.I prefer money order because in this way I will ship the car in the same day you make the payment.
I will be waiting your email.
Kindly Regards,
Mary Nicholson

Mary, Mary quite contrary! How does your bank account grow?

With E-bay Scams and Western Union checks, that's how my bank account grows... smile.gif

I was never good at those nursery rhymes.

I emailed Ebay 3 times, because the same car came up for 3 different sellers and Ebay id's. Everytime I see the car I send the info to Safe Harbor.

You ask "Who in their right mind would go for this?" Well, I am here to tell you that I know of a person who did do this and lost $3,000.00! They were new to ebay and didn't know the difference. They contacted me to see if there was anything I could do and told them they would have to contact ebay and the PA here. I haven't heard anything from them but I am going to bet they lost it all with out getting anything back.

I do know that last summer there was a local person caught scamming PC parts on Ebay and he did get caught by investigators. It is sad that people will do this to others and get away with it.

"marynicholson21@msn.com" is ALL OVER eBay, with scam auctions everywhere; she/he/whatever likes one-day scam auctions for Corvettes too, and always uses the same e-mail response. eBay is hot on her heels, but can't catch 'em all for a day or so. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Well, it's been a day or so and they are still at it. I inquired about a 59 Corvette for sale "cheap" and here is the response I received today. Auction has been pulled and cannot be found even under "completed items", so I am assuming Ebay finally caught on.

These guys never quit. I e-mailed one about a month ago on a big block car. I asked where it was and they also said Italy. I told them that I was going to Italy in two days on business, and wanted to make plans to see the car and I would pay for it then. They still wanted me to send the Western Union money and let them ship it to me. When I told them I would arrange shipping when I got there, they never returned another e-mail.

I was going to buy a car on Ebay that wasn't in the "too good to be true category," but was pretty good. After posting here (my first post I think) I received some excellent advice about buying cars on ebay. It was after that when I decided to buy my car locally, in much worse condition than the ebay car was (supposedly). I am glad I took the advice of the guys here to steer clear of that car. I don't know whatever happened to it, but I know what I have now, and I feel better having not taken the "better car" without seeing it up close.

I should mention however that I sold a KZ1000 on ebay last year, and the guy drove 4 hours to pick it up sight unseen. Had I misrepresented this bike, I fear what him and his three Russian speaking buddies would have done to me.

Actually, the way my hotmail is configured, the IP address of the sender shows on my messages. The originator's IP for the email I received on the 59 Corvette was 64.12.116.195 According to the locator I used, the person is New York. Check this out.
