hi all" I own a 67 camaro ive had her since 1975 .and thru out the years when a show is about first gen camaros they show a 68 or 69 you dont see a 67.when a lot of people talk about the camaro"s its the 69 i see 67's going for a pretty good amount of money but nothing like the 69's that i see . is it me ?? am i being to senative . and my second thought is there anyway to guess as to how many of the 67's are still around ? or a best guess ? what do you think?lol

you are not alone in that thought , the 67 was first has many many many more thing's going for it vent window's round gauges no marker light's no smog crap better looking tailight's electric headlight door's it just goe's on and on ,
BUT the fact is that the 69 is the highest priced most used for picture's of the three year's of the mighty camaro , I have had two 67's and one 69 I LOVE them all three but my pick is 67 , I don't like the way that the steering column in a 69 camaro has the key on it and is the same as an 87 chevy pickup truck , THAT ERK'S ME , the 67 has metal door top's more like a muscle car should have , 67 has the best looking deluxe interior package , anyway I could write a book , the 69 is just everyone's pick and they are going for big buck's especialy if you have one of those 1969 factory 302 x33 x77 xxxxxxxx original rare Z/28's

It’s sort of like the tri fives, although I prefer the 57 of those, the 67 is my favorite Camaro. I still remember back in late 68 the first time I saw a new 69 Camaro. I don’t want to offend anyone but I recall my first impression was; Oh my gosh they ruined a beautiful car! And I felt very disappointed with the new body style.

I prefer the cleaner look of the '67 & '68's over the somewhat "gaudy" lines of a 69, too.

if i had to choose between a 67, a 68, or a 69, i'd take a 68- or a 67 with 68 doors on it. i just don't like wing windows.
it would, however, have to have a 69 dash and steering column. call me a goof, but i think the 69 dahs looks better, and i prefer the locking steering column and find the ignition switch more convenient there. hell, put an 80's column in it with the wiper and dimmer switch mounted on the turn signal lever- and maybe cruise control for the twin turbo 427 LS7 out of a new Corvette LS6 under the hood- and i'd be in heaven.

I have a 69, but i have always liked the way 67's looked. I personally like the vent windows and the way the grill is layed out on a 67 but I dont like the way the dash and gauges are.

I am a HUGE fan of all first generation Camaros...obviously!

My least favorite of the three has always been the 69, yet it seems to be the most sought after of the three years. While I still think they are beautiful cars with great lines, the 67-68's have always appealed to me more. Of those two I always liked the 67 just a hair better...I like the vent windows, and the fact that it was the first year I guess.

Either way...they are all beautiful cars in thier own right and each one has it's plusses and minuses on the whole.

just to be very clear on what I am saying and posted earlier I LOVE ALL THREE 67 68 and 69 I think they are the coolest car's ever made but I just like the 67 a tad better than 68 69 , but just did not want anyone to think I was putting 69 down I AM NOT , everyone that has gave an opinion on this has been nearly the same ,

Yep...I think everyone on here loves the first gen's....and I also think everyone on here loves one particular year just a little more than the others. I really don't think any of us would turn down any of the three.

Not to hijack the thread, but along these lines , and without starting a new thread...fill in the blanks:

I own a ____ Camaro, but my favorite year is the ____ Camaro.

1967 with all the information on the trim tag. Makes them harder to clone. All 1st gen's are all great but I like the 67 as it was the first one that I got and still have it. Got it in 1979 and restored it in 1990 only drive it about 500 miles per year.

67 and 67. My first car was a 67, and I finally got another one a few months back. I passed on a few 68s and 69s that would have been easier projects, but I have only ever had one Camaro in my life (the gold 67) before the one I currently have, and while I enjoy seeing and enjoying other peoples 68s and 69s, I will only have a 67.

68 and 68. And convertible at that!
I've posted my opinion before, but the 69 looks almost like a 1.5 generation Camaro. Nothing wrong with it at all, a great looking car, but is so markedly different looking than the 67-68.
I like the 67 too, but the 68 just has these little extras that define my preference, such as:
No wing windows/Astro Ventilation!
Tic Toc Tach
Horseshoe automatic shifter
Console gauges
Multi leaf rear springs (350 motor and above anyway)
I LIKE the marker lights!
Deeper V grill (standard, non-rs model)
Staggered rear shocks

I own a 67 convertible and my favorite has to be a 67. I think it has to do with it being the first of the three and that my parents had a 67 RS coupe when I was a kid. I fondly remember my Mom racing any and all takers.....kids in the car, no seat belts and all....I some times wonder how we survived. It was wrecked and sold to a "friend" for $500 dollars which they never received, I remember when I was 7 or 8 begging my mom not to sell it because it was going to be my first car, I guess she couldn't store a wrecked car for 8 more years until I could drive. I suppose that is when my obsession with the 67 Camaro started, it took me 22 years to finally afford one....Memories, nothing more than memories.LOL

I like the 67 and 68 body but I'm not a fan of the vent window.

Everyone has their own preferences. I'm sure just like everyone else on the forum though, I like all three years of the first gen camaro.

I have been driving a 67 & 68 rally sport convertible(s) since the early 80's. The NUMBER ONE question I am ALWAYS asked by old & young alike, "What is it, a 69?" This is to say, your average Joe & Joe-et on the street really, really can not tell the difference between a 67, 68 & 69. To us enthusiast, there is a BIG difference. I'd say over 90% of people who are even old enough to know better will ask me if my 67 RS is a 69. I had a 68 for 20 years. It was stolen. I own a 67 now. My favorite is a 67,68 & 69. smile.gif

My 67 has been with me since my sister sold it to me for $100 in high school....was, and still is the BEST.
The others are all ok....but the original is the BEST.
